New Beetle - How To Remove Center Dash

This is a Tutorial to how to remove the Center Dash Console in a New Beetle 1998 - 2010 including the convertible. Made in a Volkswagen New Beetle 2000 1.8 Turbo with Leather Seats. The Heater seats is only available with the leathered seats option.
Este es un tutorial de cómo remover o quitar la consola central de tablero en un (Volky) New Beetle 1998 - 2010 incluido el modelo convertible. Realizado en un Volkswagen New Beetle 2000 1.8 Turbo con asientos de cuero. Los asientos calentables solo están disponibles con la opción de asientos de cuero.

Hi, I suddenly had 3 elective peobpemas. 1, my odometer shows no speed, my outside temperature sensor stopped at 11 degrees, my fuel level, even though it goes up and down in turns, then drops to 0. These errors occurred simultaneously. what do you think it could be?

Entiendo que no se puede cambiar el color de las luces del cluster. Sólo el Turbo S tiene otro color que es color blanco.

Did you remove all the rubber coating from your dash panels? If so, what did you use? I'm trying to get it off mine but haven't found anything that really works well yet. Tried brake fluid, acetone, alcohol, goo gone, etc.

You can use a Brillo Steel Sponge but you need to paint after.

Is it any easier to remove the center air vents once the center dash console has been removed, or do I still have to break them and fix them in order to remove it and fix the initial problem? Thanks!

One area of misinformation, 1:18 in try to remove the factory radio like that and you will destroy the cover. You need keys to remove the whole radio (or a couple of jigsaw blades to act as keys)

I could really use some help with removing the dash with the emergency flasher and Airbag indicator, been trying to get my radio back for two months now, its impossible! Removing all screws I can only lift the dash out maybe1/4 inch because the wires for the emergency flasher and Airbag light are so short.

Forgot, the emergency blinker and Aibag controls, can the be popped out from behind and then put inside the holes when removing the dash? That would solve it.

Shon9tilR This is the heated seats control of the driver. This option came with leather seats. Mainly on Turbo models.

cb fv Debes romper la base donde van agarradas las rejillas originales por dentro de la consola. Luego colocas las de Audi TT y el sobrante de espacio puedes cubrirlo con cualquier cosa. Ya sea foam o cualquier otro material que haga que queden sujetadas.

Maybe next time add this video to the one where you need to replace the ac knobs because this is literally part of what you have to do it should be part of that tutorial. If some brain cells were used I wouldn’t have broken my dash.
