I think this may be the best I’ve heard your system before. It was so effortless, and detailed but not to the point it was bright. Very musical and much more analog sounding than usual. Jay I'm stunned that someone has said a clear step down from the boulder dartzeel combo no way sounds fantastic the piano sounds so smooth and real and female vocals unreal WOW this is a system you could listen to all day without fatigue but with all the micro details intact the intonations in her voice were stunning this as good as it gets you could hear different presentations with other gear but not better and why would you when it sounds this good as always interesting my friend I'm assuming this is with the tube preamp I saw the other day but you also had some McIntosh monos

Jay, It sounds to me that you are after the live performance which you have captured here. SOURCE is the key. I believe the best possible source we can have today is from the original source. Analog tape copied from master tape is available and unmatched. The newest Ballfinger tape deck only as an example will save big $ doing away with dac's, turntables, phono stages, cartridges, cables, etc. I wish I did realized this many years ago.

Pleasant. Spectral balance is pretty even except in the treble, where it is tipped up a bit. Intelligible. Dynamics seem a bit restrained compared to before. The overall presentation seems to me to be a bit laid back compared to before. Really hard to say tho because it's only one song, which the production quality could be influencing the the above mentioned observations. Is everything broken in?

Jay, great sound from this system. Do you know what capture method of the audio (in a studio) was used. It is phenomenal. But get the Temptation logo off the screen and show more of the gear.

It almost feels like I'm in the studio listening to the vocals as they are recorded live. And given if I had the knowledge and experience, I feel could probably tell you which microphone she was singing into, the brand of cable used, the model of the piano and other instruments. It was so clean, but you could tell there was equipment signatures picked up in the recording - That superfine level of detail that it seems is allowed to flow freely through your system. Would love to hear more to see if what I think I'm hearing here can be duplicated with different tracks, different styles of music.

Hey Jay, Just a quick thought about your listening sessions with your gear. Have you given any thought to delivering the closest thing to being there as possible? Meaning recording these comparisons with a higher end microphone or even a binaural microphone. This way the listener can hear what it’s like to be in your sweet spot. You could record a session and make it available for download or streaming. Just a thought because attempting to hear nuances in the system I’d imagine is limited by how it’s recorded. Adorama sells a binaural microphone. My2cents

Obviously hard to really know how it sounds over KZbin even with headphones. However, the room treatments you’ve done are really an improvement over how your room sounded before. Nice decay and gentle reflections. I’m sure in person amazing. You must be using the Mac tube preamp. A nice warm yet detailed sound.

hearing the song with Beyerdynamic DT 880 600-ohm customized balanced headphones...the percussion was rather interesting, to hear the timbre of the snare with the brushes, completely immersed in this alone...her vocalization, the breathing out of each note...the mid-range was balanced...I figured the headphones with the Sennheiser HDV 820 balanced headphone amplifier will mimic what actually was being played in the room, probably not, but I can only hope it was close enough...will give it another listen, thank you for the share

When I compare your recording to directly off of Tidal the voice is distinctly different. Although it is difficult to describe your recording almost sounds like the singer is in a tunnel and the lower frequencies of the voice are accentuated. Does anybody else notice this?

I think the Magicos were better. Maybe it's the recording. Or my headphones. Sort of a ringing edge. Like the tweeters were getting too much power too low. Like a mega dollar cabernet of over ripe fruit and blunt force oak. Your Magicos were more balanced. Also try high end Japanese speakers. Sometimes less is better.
