Very cool preamp, and nice to see it covered here! Look forward to seeing more of your opinions on this new model once you have given it a good spin. I wonder if you have heard of AVID Reference Pre Amplifier, as that is very extreme-fi as well, though thus far I haven't seen reviews. Also, the 300b tube preamps have seen new contenders for extreme-fi slot, such as Thrax Libra 300b Preamplifier and Vinnie Rossi Brama Pre-amplifier Gen 2; it would be awesome to see these unique preamps covered in your room too!

What he said was brillant and I have always agreed that the human brain and ears arre far more sufisticated than a measurement, but that doesn't mean measurements can't help when there are problems. Measurements aren't the end all to be all when judging performance. Most people that are measurement exclusive, never talk about the effects of the room on said meaurements or how to treat the room.

Audio music preamps have dual stepped attenuation to stop harmful effects of remote control. In a review, one beat a CAT SL1. If not best in world, possibly best at its price point. Chinese hi end not got been counters onboard yet like west, so overengineer and design with purity in mind. Cheap china products = crap Quality china products = rolls Royce quality

Sounding dry and soundstage seems a tad smaller. The Soulutions is a top class preamp but it's probably not a perfect match for the Gryphons. We all know at this level, its not easy matching preamps and amps from different brands.

Jay, Tricky video. As many have commented, sound isn’t the best on this video. I’m sure it sounds far better and different in the actual room than on KZbin. But hard to post a video on KZbin and then say at the same time that one can’t judge much from KZbin. A bit self-contradictory.

72k pre woah!! We are still looking for a pre under 10k to better our $100 recapped 1971 Sansui 555A (preamp only) we salvaged from the junk yard. Albeit connected to an array of over 20k worth of diligently selected cabling and component matching.

Amps are cold. Need some hours imo. They should smooth out with a few hundred hours.

Great components but maybe add some room treatments. Bare floors and bare walls not ideal, you can even hear the slap echo in the youtube video of you guys talking. Phenomenal gear though, nice!

The main difference is that QOBUZ is the best.

This sounds dull and without life or soul. This sounds clinical without texture and non-engaging. It appears to come out of a tunnel. I am at one end and the music is traveling to me from 100 yards.
