IK. Bought my first BM couple months ago for 80 bucks, new, model Azeria. Can’t find them on ebay anymore for such a price. Meanwhile Spyderco is asking 200 bucks for really innovative designs like the Yojumbo. All I see here is BM's old classics but revamped and repriced. Im mean beautiful blades but was looking forward to fresh ideas. Remember the Morpho bali? How many Bugout versions do we really require if we are already able to customize our own? I mean for real collectors I get it.

@@etherealicer both fair points. I knew the price would go down once on the dealers website. Despite what most knife reviewers on KZbin claim, there's nothing wrong with a lot of the budget steels. Most of the time (unless it's a hard use knife) you just need to quickly hone the edge with a strop, and when you do have to sharpen, it's really easy.
@WoodsmanHobo777

Budget knives are the only way these days, they've always had a special appeal to me more so than these over priced knives because of their name. These knife company's worked so hard for years to build their name and take care of their customers and then they start price gouging. These knife company's put made in USA and put their name on it and raise the price three to four times what it should cost. It's greed at this point. No thanks

Best thing you can do is complain in YT comments and DONT BUY THEM! Benchmade will read this. But then, it's because everyone is snapping up every $200 to $400+ Chinese knife they can that this is happening. So I watch this video and I think - Great! We have a representative from Benchmade here to tell us why their knives are so great! And the chick spends 30 minutes talking about their new line of colors????? No innovation, no proprietary features that other knife makers can't offer, nothing new, original or unique. That price on the narrows is beyond insulting. The new bar lock from Tactile has magnacut with 64 HRC, contoured titanium scales with micro milling, and was in collaboration with Richard Rogers for literally $180 cheaper; and to boot they are a micro company compared to the enormous production capabilities of Benchmade. And another thing, BM revealed that damn Immunity/Immunity AUTO knife back in February at Shot Show last year; and have been in the "coming soon" section at every major dealer for the last 12 months and counting. Then they say it's going to be a 2023 release in September? Their poor insight from community response is astonishing to say the least.

This is crazy the shootout was $270 when it came out then went up to $290 and now is $315 to $340 for the new colors. The titanium narrow knife is $522. The old benchmade anthem integral was $480 and was a way better knife. Benchmade knives are starting to cost way to much and it's always in-stock nothing rare about them.

$580 for a basic ti/m390 folder 🤢🤮🤮. I could justify $300. But they are smoking crack at over $500. I needed a little humor tonight.

These knife prices are getting way too steep, I got out of collecting knives for a couple year now and prices dramatically increased from what I remember, a bugout could be had for around $100 or less and now they want 200 for the same knife…WTF!

Benchmade moving into enthusiast territory. Interesting. Fortunately there’s lots of good makers (CRKT, Civivi, and of course Cold Steel) for the users. Great time to be in the knife world, with all the innovation and consumer choice available!

Thank you!! Its nice to see someone recognize that Taiwan manufacturing process has gotten phenomenal. Cold Steel and Spyderco take advantage (some of spyderco's most popular items come from Taichung Taiwan). Bechmade prices are whack

Why is the Narrows $80 more expensive than a large plain Sebenza? I love the Benchmades I have. But this is so far out of hand. Not to mention the basic 940 is $216 now.

The Tactile knife company Maverick will have the same lock, great action, better titanium handle, similar size, USA origin, MagnaCut steel, similar slim width, better geometry, better design, good pocket clip, and cost a couple hundred dollars less than a certain knife in this video. And the Micarta version will be even more affordable, literally less than half the price.

The 10 or 12 Benchmade knives I own are my favorites. They were never inexpensive, but the BM price escalation for the past few years is beyond what I can justify. Losing some of their base is certainly included in BM’s pricing strategy, so they likely don’t wince at hearing us whine about the higher prices. Still, it makes me sad to see stagnant product development eg. “The Big Thing for 2023 are new colors” - are you kidding?! Fortunately, I’m grateful for the favorite Benchmades that I own.

Those prices are crazy imo. Not worth it when you can get better, stronger, american made knives from other companies for the same (or even less) money. The fidgety factor of the axis lock isn't enough to justify that much money.

@@Mizuna752 I understand. It's the few bad apples syndrome. I have family from Oregon and they're not at all that way. It's a shame that urban centers have such sway over an entire state. I've never been that far west and don't know if I ever will because of the political climate. I know there's some beautiful nature to be beheld out there. I was mostly poking fun at the overt "wokeness". No hard feelings. 👍

The Mini Freek and Mini Claymore look neat! So far I’ve loved the mini versions of their big folders (Crooked River, Presidio II, Adamas) so I think those two will be awesome as well. Also, very exciting to see Benchmade getting into S45VN and MagnaCut! I’d love to see an Altitude in MagnaCut or even Cruwear.

BHQ I like your content and I’m sure you feel that you have to cover some Benchmades but you should’ve known you get some hate when you started posting Bugout prices no matter what they do to try and justify the price. All Benchmade is doing is pushing is further and further towards brands like Spyderco and Kizer for mid range knives and making us reconsider budget knives like Civivi.

This was a long video considering all that was said os the Bugout now comes in lots of new colors by the way it’s 200 dollars and up. The fact that the Bugout prices were announced but there was a reluctance to offer other prices tells us a lot. if I’m gonna spend money with Bench made it’s going to be on something like the OM, CLA or Claymore.
