I'm still a bit confused on the dsp cables thing. So if you A-B the Dusk with the dsp cable vs a regular cable but EQ'd using the values you got from Crin, will they sound exactly the same with the same imaging, staging etc...? Theoretically the DSP cable should not change those aspects but can you confirm whether thats actually the case?
@Gizaudio7 ай бұрын
DSP is basically EQ. So if you do EQ yourself it'll give the exact same result as EQ applied with the DSP cable.
@JoseFerreira-zb7wh7 ай бұрын
@@jonathanraecrisanto5912 just get a nice dongle, and use squiglink to get the eq presets applied to the tuning of other iem you already own. Then any app with eq will get you there. Best dusk review so far, not because it is positive but because you explain very clearly all the pros and cons and it is always very clear which mode you are talking about (analog or DSP). I see other reviewers nitpicking too much on the things they do not like and completely ignoring all the things the Dusk is doing very well, leaving a really bad impression to us, the viewers who had not had a chance to listen them yet. For those afraid of the "need to use DSP" I think the big thing to keep in mind here is that, as Timmy has said, utilizing wavelet, Equalizer APO, Steelseries Sonar, etc. you can apply the same PEQ settings that the DSP uses, effectively granting you the same sound signatures on analog and freedom to choose your own DAC/AMP. While some don't like the analog default signature, Crincacle has gone on record stating it was the result of direct intention to weed out the peak in the lower treble that is present on the previous blessings and dusks by using the new planar tweeters. Obviously if you've already got some sick mid-tier earbuds you're happy with, these may not be nearly as appetizing to non-collectors, but personally as someone entering the mid-tier iem market I've been very happy with the Dusks and use PEQ religiously... A tip to anyone out there, the Steelseries Sonar Punchy preset sounds insanely good on these iem's. Don't have the values on me but they can obviously be transferred over into any PEQ of your choice too! Buy Dusk.

so barely going off his ranking here, he did not evaluate the performer 5 that high in regards to bass and mids with its strong point being the treble. if we go based off the final rank he gave the dusk2 its basically just better in every regard for the cons tho: app can be a bit buggy (consider getting qudelix 5k) 3.5mm cable is kind of disappointing for that price (i am not using that, i will get a replacement)

@@ahsaftIf I were to purchase this iem I would be using it analog with a fiio k5 pro ess. If I were to use a replacement cable would it affect sound quality?
@ahsaft7 ай бұрын
@@Shout0 since ur planning on using it analog it will still sound the same as if you were to use the default analog cable, after that you can use an equalizer of course

@@ahsaft Okay thank you for the info, I already like to use EQ so this should be fun!

@@Shout0 u could theoretically still wait for gizaudios iem release, not much info rn but since it will probably come out soon and if u dont need a new pair of iems fast that might be worth the wait

Ordered the ie600 today. How would you rank them against the dusk?
@fluffykitten5177 ай бұрын
They wipe the floor with them.
@Mark-hb2zy7 ай бұрын
@@fluffykitten517 had the 600's for a few days now. These aren't close to the ie200 like people say, not at all. Different tonality for one, and just better in every area.
@or1on896 ай бұрын
They're different types of IEMs with different signatures. The IE600 sound similar to the Variations in certain aspects but have all of the pros and cons of being a single driver IEM. Plus, Sennheiser is very good with staging and airness in sound. IMO the Dusk would sound flatter compared to the IE600.
