At the beginning I also preferred 4 defensive defenders, but after a while I realized that I can defend well even with 3 defenders, and having another option in attack is useful to me. In the center of the pitch I also tried to use the "orchestrator", and some of them (Kimmich, Camavinga) join very well in attack, while the behavior of the others (Odegaard) I just can't understand. In attack I started using "classic 10", but only as SS, because I don't like it on AMF.

If the missing defender isn't taken advantage of by the opponent, it's definitely worth considering. I'd prefer fullback finishers for this because they make the best runs as they can be both a central option (which is the better run in my opinion) as well as an outside option. Which versions of Kimmich, Camavinga (NC I guess?) and Ødegaard are you using? I think the best way to find out is hop into an AI game (lowest difficulty so they don't interrupt you) and try to recreate exact same scenarios to see if there's a difference. Classic #10 as SS is really going strong!

​@@PESPepe Yes, Camavinga NC ))). Kimmich from free blue lock pack. Odegaard one of the last PoTWs with booster. But I tested him as an AMF with playstyle turned off and him performs very well. Its feel like him have too much Att.Aw. for "orchestrator" role.

I'm not 100% sure what exactly it is so I don't want to spread any misinformation, but I'll try to check it out once I've worked through my list of current videos planned. Luckily, I also drew a POTW Ødegaard, so with him and Kimmich I might try a thing or two in the future. Glad it works for you as an AMF though, if I recall correctly, Ødegaard's total stats are actually best as AMF anyway!

Awesome video,I used to play 4-3-1-2 ,4-3-3(Long ball counter) and 4-2-2-2 all with Quick Counter for most of the division matches ,I actually reached 20k rank using quick counter, however since the patch I've been finding it hard to find a working formation,So My META at the moment is 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-1-3(Wingers)using Tuchel and out wide ,and honestly I haven't enjoyed efootball like I currently am,It requires great skill , dribbling , passing and patience to master but honestly worth it,I reckon u try it out🥶

Fantastic video. I will try this again; potentially as my sub tactic. Have you been successful with this? The negative about 4312, is feel you are playing into the hands of the 1000s of Meta players where as a 442, gives them something else to worry about. I think 4213 META doesn’t like to play vs the RMF LMF

For me, it works absolutely fine. The only thing that bothers me a bit, although this isn't really specific to this formation, is that first touches are worse since this update, making it harder to bypass players with quick first touches followed by turns & skills. Might have to adjust and play a bit slower & less reliant on the individual class of the forwards. Most meta formations are pretty center heavy. Against those playing 3 forwards, you could actually have a slight advantage because you'll be outnumbering them at the center at the second third of the pitch, which makes it easier for you to intercept their passes. I agree with you that offensively, the RMF & LMF style can be more potent per attack, but I look at it like this, that by getting more interceptions, I also get more attacks (and my opponent fewer). Even if the individual attack is less likely to be successful compared to the RMF & LMF formation guide I made, I think overall it at least evens out by having more attacks due to the superior numbers in the midfield. I haven't tried the other formation this patch yet though.

top tier content as usual! no other creator that i know matches your levels of analysis and knowledge! do you have any videos where you speak about Orchestrator playstyle? i have a lot of amazing players with that playing style, but i almost feel like for my playstyle, it would be better to use those orchestrators as AMF in order to have them be styleless and be an AMF with amazing offensive + defensive abilities. Players like Bennacer. Lobotka etc

Thanks, that's a really nice thing to say! The only video where the orchestrator playstyle is included is in my other formation guide (the 4-1-3-2 one with 2 side midfielders), but it's only a tiny bit, namely that compared to box-to-box players, orchestrators are further up when you are building up, thus, making it harder to reach them with short passes through the middle. I've also seen them do the usual offensive runs one would expect, but I somehow remember they haven't always been doing that, so although I'm not 100% sure about this, there could have been a change at this style or a certain condition that alters their offensive behavior. I haven't played orchestrators much so my personal experience is rather limited there unfortunately. Using styleless AMFs is alright, my Bellingham has no style either as box-to-box won't activate as AMF.

Thank you very much! Definitely among the best formations in the game, otherwise, there wouldn't be so many top players playing it. I personally always preferred formations with 2 forwards, but that's only me. I'd say CF-CF-SS in the front currently has a slight edge over wing forwards, most likely because it's more center heavy, which has always been good in the game. The downside compared to the formation in the guide is that you'll defend with 7 instead of 8 because the wing forwards won't drop that far back or help defend unless you call the for pressure, which is very situational. It'll be a bit harder to intercept in the midfield due to lower numbers, but if you're able to compensate this by making use of the additional forward and thereby scoring more, it'll work fine. It also helps if you have the top tier players like Vieira, who can intercept passes from the entire solar system (and probably even beyond) anyway, but then again, that isn't really specific to any formation.

Yes totally agree playing with front 3(forwards ) has its own perks. If you've got quality 3 midfielders(hole player, Defensive center mid(b2b/orchestrator) and obviously Vieira the goat. But it's always great to have an extra man with 8 players defending/tracking back. Excited to try this one out thank you very much 🫡

I get some of the hate and issues with this game with spins and lack of weekly content but. I honestly appreciate how well the players feel in the game and it’s the only sport game that I know of that if I want to play like 86 Maradona or 09 Messi I can because Konami takes the time to nail the player ID in the game for many players. It’s not a perfect game but it’s as close to perfect for how the players actually perform in the game.

I think the most hate the game gets is actually from players who do like the game's core but are angry because it could be so much more, thus, wasting its potential. Objectively comparing it to either EAFC or UFL from a pure perspective of raw gameplay, eFootball wins any day of the week in my opinion.

Every position has a fixed set of playstyles that activate when a player is used in them. This is determined by Konami. For example, the most recent patch removed Classic No. 10 from the CMF pool, meaning if you use a Classic No. 10 as a CMF now, he would be without playing style (or neutral, whatever you like to call it), whereas before the patch, he would use his old Classic No. 10 playstyle.

Thanks! As a Quick Counter sub-tactic, the formation in the video will work very well. As a primary possession formation, you probably want something with more outside coverage such as 4-2-1-3, 4-2-3-1 or if you're confident at defending, 3-6-1/3-5-2.

I think it should work fine. You might be a bit more vulnerable to quick attacks from your opponent since quick counter has the defence further up, but on the other hand, that way you'll make the entire field a bit tighter, leaving even less space in the middle, which could be an advantage as you'd be running 4 centrally oriented midfielders.

De Ligt is a build-up player, Bernardo Silva a box-to-box player. What I refered to as "none" when talking about playstyles are for example the other CMFs Gullit (indominator) and Samuel Lino (my team). The reason is that they are playing in positions where their playstyle aren't active. Samuel Lino has the playstyle Attacking Fullback, which activates when he plays as a fullback, but doesn't activate when he is used as CMF. That's what I mean by saying "no playstyle" or "none". Same goes for example for Costacurta (Defensive Fullback, used as CB, my team), Rijkaard (Orchestrator, used as CB, indominator) or Gullit (Creative Playmaker, used as CMF, also indominator). Basically, not every playstyle activates at every position, and if you use a player that has a playstyle that doesn't activate, he's playing without playstyle. Hope that clears it up!

Hey! The reason is, at least for me, that they don't perform worse than a player with playstyle but are the most suitable ones I have for the position in terms of stats. In my new formation for example I play with 3 defenders, all of which are actually registered as fullbacks, thus, having no playstyle. But since they're Thuram, Wan-Bissaka & Costacurta, they're the absolute best I have.

He's alright, still using him from time to time. Exceptional speed, respectable dribbling, good defensive stats for a midfielder, fitting the CMF position here quite well for his type, especially when cutting out or carrying the ball over a longer distance.

You could try 2 things but I don't think either of them are really optimal. The first would be you use Messi as left CF (absolutely needs outside curler then though), and Salah as SS on the right side instead of the right CF. Your second option would be to move the right CMF to RMF and use Salah there. You'll give width to your game this way but you'll remove a bit of your central pressure. Let me know how it worked out for you! Theoretically you could also use the Messi as an AMF but I personally wouldn't do that. I don't know if you watched my 09 Messi Review from a few days ago, but there you'll see why he is so good as a CF.
