This formation boosted my eFootball winrate a lot, so I made this formation guide because maybe it will boost yours as well. It's a 4-1-3-2 (although technically more of a 4-2-2-2, but the game interprets it as 4-1-3-2) long ball counter formation. Both are fine, you can pick whichever you like😀 I personally currently prefer the 4-3-1-2 diamond one because I think it's easier to defend the center with it, especially after Patch 3.3.0 (last gameplay patch, not the one right now). The formation with the side midfielders has better wing attack though, I always felt that it's bit easier to attack with. In the end, it probably depends on which players you have, what your playstyle is and what's good on the current patch🤞
