NEW BEST TIME!

Achieved another personal best!
Had 2 amazing laps just moments before closure of the track. All the elements lined up perfectly to able to go for a quick one on this last lap. Not too hot or cold, new tires, not much traffic...
It had rained a bit just moments before so I was a little extra cautious.
I had brand new Cup 2 R tires on the car and they felt incredible again, like driving on rails.
Too bad about the traffic at Kesselchen which is a very important and long part of the track to get a good time. Maybe lost 3-5 seconds there.

No, he was referring to the very fast passenger laps Estre did for charity during a Manthey-Racing track day. He did around 7:04 and 7:06 BTG laps. You can see you on KZbin when you look for Kevin Estre. I’m pleased enough with being close to those times because he was going for it. :D

To anyone who has not driven the Ring... You CANNOT Fathom what it takes to get round here in the 7's! I can tell you Right Now this guy is a fucking Hero! I don't think I have ever commented on your videos, but you have been my reference for most of 2019. To drive a 'clean' Lap without hitting the Kerbs is something I take very seriously because I care about my Suspension and am only driving for fun on the Nordschleife. To see somebody replicate the same technique at blistering speeds is mind-blowing. Manthey Racing are incredible! I returned with Beers for the Mechanic after they corrected my Setup this year (2019). Amazing garage and lovely people to deal with. Amazing drive. Noticed you had in manual, using paddles. Did you have PSM off? Most noticeable to me was smoothness and little steering input. Few nervous moments whether traffic would either not move over or move back in front of you? If that had been here in Aussie land, you’d have never known what they’d do. Much more respect in Germany.

Amazing lap! A HANS device will make those harness belts much more comfortable! We can’t wear harness without Hans at most tracks in the states. The belts don’t bother me at all now in my RS. 🍻

Thanks!! Sure, simple but took me a long time to find it as well. Pressures are always so elusive. Just put the stock pressure that the manufacture advices when cold.. when hot. The Cup 2 R are a bit more then N2. Cup2 R is 2.2front-2.5rear (that’s cold normal rating and I adjust it to this when hot) and the N2 need 2.0Front-2.3Rear. Never put the same pressure for the Cup2 R on the N2 because the tire will explode with heavy compression or high speed!

Superb videos and driving. What do you recommend to make the rear of this car more predictable. Following your responses, sounds like MPSC2R, and more camber. How about toe? Keeping ESC on sounds like a help as well.

Jeff Compton Thanks!! It was on Cup 2 R’s and has about max. camber. It’s the rear wheel steer that makes it a bit unpredictable. ESC best on as it never intervened unless you really need to be saved. Greets!

RingRennSport Thanks for your reply and glad to see your newest video. You are correct, I learned about RWS, after much trial and error with toe and bar settings. I found a dealer who knew to re-index the RWS motors which calmed down the rear greatly, no more snap oversteer with ESC off. Added spacers to increase camber F and R. Fabulous car! I am told many similarities in design to Cup cars. Keep posting!

You are definitely improving your line and breaking skills. I confess that I enjoyed more your laps with the 981 Boxter GTS. Seems to me you were driving closer to the limit on that car. The GT3 RS limit is so high that its downright frightening to drive at its limit, Specially when its your own car. Good luck with reaching 6:59 mark. I guess it will be next spring or summer. We will all celebrate when it happens.

Marcus Lim Not sure how high but because it has around -3 camber the car has been put a little higher than stock because otherwise the tires would scrape the wheel well under heavy compression. Greets.
