Received mine and it’s a great scooter. Side note my packaging had the styrofoam. It does go 17 mph and seems to not let you go much over that if you are going down hill. Seems that it breaks some to slow you back down to around 17 or 18.

Only problem for me (which I realised too late) they not legal in Holland where I recently moved to. A day after I purchased item I tried to cancel but was impossible to contact seller NIU, and now they’ve bloody shipped it! and say item can’t be cancelled! My question for you if you wouldn’t mind, did you order scooter from NIU with address in China, or elsewhere? Would appreciate any info. Keith.

I tried the KQi3 pro this weekend, i like it. Felt sturdy and well built (as expected from a big company like Niu). The only thing I didn’t like was throttle response, no gradation, all or nothing feel.

Thanks so much for the review! I had a budget of 450€ (472$) for a scooter and it looked like the best I could do for that money in my home country was the Xiaomi Mi Scooter 3. I was hesitant though because there was no in-depth online review on it and I would have liked to buy a scooter that you guys tested before so I know what I am getting into. However rather than the usual 599€ the scooter costs, NIU dropped the Price in Europe to 499€! On top of that their website had a promo where they gave me a whopping 50€ discount which made the final price 449€, ultimately fitting EXACTLY into my budget! I have used the Niu electric bike NQi for about 5 years and i can say it was pretty much the best electric bike in China for a long time and my battery finally failed after those five years but it had done the work with over 18000km but it must have been because of the fact that i stored it for 2 months without using it as i transported it out of China. Thanks for the review of their scooter and i noticed the KQi3 pro is already out and i am wondering if you will do a detailed review on it too. They make great electric bikes and i used to say they are the tesla of bikes or is tesla the niu of cars. Hahaha. Thanks !

I bought one after considering the Ninebot E45E and the KQi3 Pro. The KQi3 Pro was a bit too much for the budget I had, and the E45E doesnt seem that good, so I got the KQi2 Pro. First surprise out of the box, the app doesnt have the "cruise control" feature, maybe that's exclusive to the north american version, no big deal, as it wasnt the feature that made me choose this one over the Ninebot, but still, a bit dissapointed. Also, the scooter will always scan using BT to find a phone to connect to, which is a bad idea as it will take a bit of range away from you. A better implementation would have deactivated BT maybe 30s (Or have the user choose it in the app) after start-up (Or disconnecting a phone) if it doesnt find a phone to connect to. I'm sure this can be fixed via an OTA update, so maybe they'll do it ? I dont know if they listen to their customers suggestions. The front break is basically useless on his own, so even if you just want to kick it like a normal scooter you better keep it turned on, otherwise you'll end up crashing in whatever you wanted to avoid. Now, this may sound like a lot of negativity, but dont get me wrong, I love this beast, I assembled it 4 days ago and I already put around 150km in, it is indeed very well built, the scooter doesnt crack or make weird noise while riding, the range is good, I got around 30km at 25km/h. The app, while lacking in features IMO, is smooth but the translation... heh, let's just say they did their best. I also noticed it catches some looks, people are so used to seeing Xiaomis and Ninebots that seeing a new "face" surprises them, and I'm pretty sure at least one of those people considered trying to find it online.

Add indicators to all their line up front and back, get official ip rating certified for ip55 at least and up this to 350-400 watts (up the kqi 3 up to 500 watts of course) and same price or minimal increase and I really think Niu could dominate the market under 1000 price bracket. I really like how their handlebars click into the back and have a one push release rather than some that have fiddly hooks u have to raise up from the deck or pull out from the stem. Halo light is pretty cool. Be great to see them attempt one with suspension also! 😀

Different scooters. The Vsett goes faster and folds smaller, but may be less robust/overbuilt. I bought the KQI3, but mostly because it was a few hundred cheaper when on sale and because I'm not riding faster than 20mph in the City. So far I like it, but nursing a thumb injury, so not riding much (the vsett would have been better for this, with a trigger throttle).

I've been looking around at scooters for a while now and I came back to the Okai scooters to see what they've been up to since the release of their Ranger e-bike; they now have a "Pro" edition of their EA10 scooter with a 48V motor instead of the 36V in the original model; it's teal in color.... please consider reaching out to them and doing a review on it; I haven't seen ANYONE on KZbin (I looked) review the new one and it's available to purchase already... The KQI2 Pro is regularly $450 on Amazon with coupons. Nothing really compares to its ride quality at that price. It’s insane.

@@blade3430 usually a 70-100 coupon which is valid off the 599 price. Then electric scooter guide has another coupon that stacks on checkout. Should knock another 50 off or so. Not sure how long those will go on, but that’s what I did.

Guys, thank you for the incredible amount of work you put into your detailed reviews, truly appreciate it! I'm about to pull the trigger on either the KQi2 Pro or KQi3 Pro this week. In looking at the specs it actually looks like the KQi2 pro's handlebars are actually a couple of inches taller than the more expensive KQi3. I'm around 6'4 and was leaning towards the KQi3, but if the handle height is actually taller on the KQi2 pro I'll go with that one. Can you please confirm from your testing? Also, wondering if the deck shape and slightly greater width makes a noticeable difference for larger size 12+ feet on the 3pro, or if the higher handlebar on the 2pro is a better tradeoff? Thanks again for the excellent work!

I'm 6"4 as well, and I weigh 214 lbs, bought the KQi2 a month ago and have no complaints at all. Only thing was the app, it took it more than 15 days to actually start working 100% on my iPhone. It was recording live speed and angle, etc but not the KMs ridden, I think it needed time to collect the info before sharing, app is okay now. Do not regret not buying the KQi3, I don't believe it is worth the price different for a small difference in performance.

Interesting ... until they can allow hacking like all the Ninebot Maxes it just severely limits the futureproofing when you grow out of your beginner phase. My Ninebot Max can do 20mph and has direct power control now and believe me, aside from being slightly caught by traffic it's every bit as fun as a 500w scooter. Suspension would be nice though ...
