Aside from the extra bicycle parking spaces, I really love how open and safe this place now feels. The former parking was a dark and crammed place smelling like piss where junkies used to chill at night. Now there's so much space and light, even at night. It immediately feels like one of the safest places in the station area.

After several construction delays, I finally get to use this bike parking facility. I did not even know it was temporary. Hopefully, the station's underground facility will be connected someday like is the case at Utrecht Central station. Great video!

I get so sad seeing how easily other cities like ones in the Netherlands can do this sort of stuff at such a high quality while in my city we struggle with even putting some bike racks near transit hubs and train stations.

Would be perfect if the bicycle racks are safer to use. There should be an extension to lock up the frame. I can only see bikes with locked wheels, which is not very save.

Often they work on sensors activated when passing the entrance or just working to provide a more safety feeling , but NS ( dutch railways ) only use green electricity since 2022.

Even on a bright sunny day the inner portion will be fairly dark, add clouds and rain it will be darker. Motion sensing lights for daytime make sense with some always on at night will keep the area safer for users.

Hoi Mark. Ik vind je video's erg interessant maar ik vind het zo jammer dat de videokwaliteit vaak zo slecht is. Een paar jaar geleden heb ik ook al eens een opmerking hierover gemaakt. Toen ging het over de lage bitrate/blokkerigheid, vooral zichtbaar tijdens je gefilmde ritjes aan de bomen en gras e.d. die alle detail kwijt zijn.Dat is helaas vaak nog steeds zo. In deze video en zo nog een paar, zie ik erg storende resize/resample artifacts. De zogenaamde 'jaggies'. Ik vind het zo zonde want het is totaal niet nodig. Ergens in het programma dat je gebruikt om de video's te maken moet je toch een nettere filtering/resampling/interpolation in kunnen stellen. Lanczos bijvoorbeeld. Of op zijn minst trilinear of bicubic. Het resultaat is echt heel veel mooier en ook rustiger om naar te kijken. Hopelijk vat je dit niet op als kritiek. Met een kleine ingreep kunnen je video's er zoveel beter uitzien. Dat lijkt me zeker het proberen waard :)

P.S. Ik begrijp dat de videokwaliteit van je ritjes te maken heeft met de 3D-camera die je gebruikt en wellicht de ingebouwde stabilisatie. Dat is wat anders dan de lelijke 'trappen' hier in wat rechte lijnen zouden moeten zijn. Dat lijkt op nearest neightbor interpolatie/resampling. De absoluut kwaliteit minste manier mogelijk (en het minste rekenwerk maar dat mag de afgelopen 20 jaar geen probleem meer zijn). Hopelijk praat ik geen abracadabra :)

Ik heb werkelijk geen idee waar je het over hebt. Ik film in 4K (3840/2160) en monteer in Adobe Premiere. En sla dan in hoogste kwaliteit op. Ik zie ook niet wat je bedoelt.

​@@BicycleDutch Hoi. Ik bekijk het ook op een hoogwaardig en groot 4K OLED scherm. In Firefox op een goede PC. De enige video's waar ik dit probleem tegenkom zijn die op dit kanaal. Het is overduidelijk. Deze video heeft veel rechte lijnen dus het valt extra op. Het metalen dak van de fietsstalling. De fietsrekken. De trappen van het station. Deuren. Ramen. Alles wat rechte lijnen heeft en onder een hoek te zien is, heeft duidelijk zichtbare problemen. Als dat werkelijk enkel aan mijn kant te zien is, is dat heel apart. Ik zou je een paar screenshots kunnen sturen op een of andere manier om te laten zien wat ik bedoel. Nogmaals: de video's op dit kanaal zijn de enigen waarbij dit zo is. Elders nergens.

Mocht het op een of andere manier toch aan mijn machine liggen dan is het nog steeds frappant dat het enkel bij de video's op dit kanaal zo is. Want KZbin trekt alles nog door de eigen encoder en doet dat voor de video's van iedereen. Mocht het aan iets op mijn PC liggen, dan zou ik het of overal moeten zien of nergens, en niet specifiek alleen hier. Dat is raar. Op een klein scherm valt het niet zo op maar op een fatsoenlijke grote monitor is het zeer evident. Ergens hoop ik een beetje dat je video's inderdaad niet de problemen vertonen die ik zie, maar vooralsnog lijkt het daar wel op. De meest logische verklaring is in dat geval iets in de encode. Heel vreemd.

I prefer public transport over bicycles. Of course bicycles are very nice, but they require space to store (not as much as cars, but still quite a lot and they're still an eyesore), while public transport doesn't.

what you do not seem to understand is in the Netherland the Bicycle and public Transportations are Integrated people arrive in their Bicycles and park them then take the Train the Tram or the Bus depending how far long you are traveling and every train also have Public transportation Bicycle( the last mile Bicycles) you can rent and paid with our one national transportation Card that we use for all our transportations be train Tram Bus and the last mile Bikes as you park your in your train station and easily get on the train and can get an other Bike in the station you travel to its integrated system in the Netherlands to make it easy for our citizens to travel from your town to an other town that is why we need bicycle parking place in all our transportation hubs. from A very proud Dutchie

Sorry, but it is nice to cycle to the train station and have the OVfiets at the other end of the trip. That will set you back about €3,50. Taking the bike with you is more than that. It is the most cost effective way to get there.

Busses don't disappear and it has a higher effect on city planning because the parking will need to be near the city centre while being well connected and taking up a huge space Bike parking can be integrated better, even when I also find it ugly for the most part

@@henna6126 Well after massive immigration in the late 80's onwards it is not that attractive anymore. A lot of green spaces were used to build housing. Public facilities seems overcrowded, tap water is at it's maximum capacity as is the power supply.

...and yet almost no accidents happen . Public toilets can be found e.g within train stations ; all others have been abolished due to unsafety, misconduct, hygiene and drug use . Some civil servant has given the issue of public toilets a deep thought ( unlike your comment, I am afraid )
