I replaced my old SRAM x7 with Shimano SLX a few years ago. Definitely more reliable, smoother operation.

How did the invis fit over the added orange decals? I have the same frame on order & black logo to cover the white up. Not sure I could live with air gaps/bubbles in the invis I have to fit? Wicked vid!

All you need is some Rotating S-hooks and grip tape on the shifters for the 'pro' cockpit setup!

is it wise to remove all parts from your frame and upgrade with high end shimano components that are expensiver than the you bought the bike ? the reason why is i like the scott aspect frame geomitry allot and wonder it is the effort and spending to do so ?

When getting the bits together to build nice new bikes, what are your views on second hand components as a cost cutter/environment saver?

There's a few different factors to consider. I'd say if you're a casual rider it's a mint way to save money and small change like that will inevitably help the environment. Unfortunately when your bike is your business (racing and coaching) you can't guarantee that second hand items will perform properly so it adds risk to the purchase. Item fails, can't work, loose race and such. I never replace or upgrade items until the old ones have failed and I will always try and repair items first of all (just had my clutch mech in bits to try and get it running smooth again). I do try to be economical, I still need to do better though.

Thanks for the detailed response, f racing and working that makes sense. I am notorious for second hand components, something's I feel are a false economy second hand but I've been really lucky with some parts. I have a XT much that has going strong for 4.5k km, but that's luck in not smashing it as much as anything else!

Hey Ben! Im looking to upgrade my stoppers on my enduro bike and I see you are running the Guide RE anchors. I have been a Shimano purist for the past few years however I have heard some great reviews of the Guide RE and some not so good reviews about the XT's I was looking at. I think in some of your past videos I have seen you running Shimano stoppers? What are your thoughts about them? I am a pretty heavy rider too so extra power would be ideal.

I’ve not had enough time on them yet. Only had about 4/5 rides on them and the power has been good on some rides and poor on others. Conditions have been minging though so it’s hard to judge things. I think they could be rad but I’m not sold yet. Best brakes I’ve had were the old Slx’s 😂

I got my CSU replaced under warranty about 3 months ago on my 2020 Rockshox Yari RC and that fixed the creak but yesterday when I was riding the new CSU started creaking as well:(

I just searched for Santacruz vectored logo and used this: shop.santacruzbicycles.com/skin/frontend/rwd/santacruz/images/scb_logo.png It doesn't fit bang on as the logo's they attach to the frame are quite often a slightly deformed (My right side logo curved downward slightly at the end) and you will have a little bit of edge showing in spots but it looks good from a distance 🤙

SLX pfff I'm running a deore crank. Are you running shimano purely on a cost reason or you prefer it to SRAM?

Absolutely prefer it to Sram. I find the pivots on the derailluers to be harder wearing, shadow + protrudes less so lower chance of twatting it into something and the chains are more durable (witnessed 2 eagle chains snap and one eagle derailluer simply fall off the axle at an Enduro this year.) The cost is just a bonus!

Shimano is both flawed, they don't use bushings, so they wear fast, at least Shimano does, not tried Sram. Box one sue bushings, But has wrong incorrect, I will look into hub gears.

Every reverb I’ve had develops the 1 inch squish after a few months. Plus they go really sluggish when it’s cold. Not had these issues with the ks👌

Your English is good! The brake levers at the normal guide levers which are all metal and spin on sealed ball bearings. Top quality. So far they feel excellent.
