I'm sorry Candi that they didn't pay attention to the weight you have lost. If i was a doctor, i would make sure to tell you how proud I am of all the hard work you have done. I truly see the difference in how you look. I know they might require to put something in the chart if you're overweight, but that doesn’t mean that they couldn't have told you that and encouraged you, telling you that you're doing an awesome job. I use kyleena I’m 19 my doctor recommended it over mirena because I have never had a child and because of my age. I think kyleena is smaller. Now that I have the IUD I rarely get a period maybe every 3 months. But mirena might be a better choice for Karli if her doctor recommended it because it varies from person to person. I am very happy with my IUD, insertion was very uncomfortable and at some points painful but I think it’s worth it because I no longer suffer from crippling cramps. I had symptoms like spotting and cramps for probably two weeks after my insertion and now I don’t even notice it. Hope this helps!

The IUD should never be used. I know not one but two but 4 people close to me who all have had the IUD and had major problems. okay one of them had gotten pregnant on it and it got misplaced and they couldn’t remove it because it was “too risky”. she ended up on complete bed rest at 16 weeks and went into labor at 31 bc the IUD popped through and the sac was leaking fluid. I have an iud I love it! But I suggest she gets the Kyleena instead of the mirena theres really no difference expect for the size, kyleena Is smaller and better for teens! Once you’re ready to have kids it doesn’t affect anything and just be prepared you might miss you period some months but that’s normal. You might have spotting/bleeding for the first 2-3 weeks of getting it, the insertion is nothing to be scared of it’s just a little pince for a second and then you’re fine. If you have a low pin tolerance I recommend taking an Advil before getting it done. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with it, it’s nice to not even have to think about it.

I don't want you to turn this around on yourself and say "I guess the truth just hurts". The fact of the matter is, this was your Dr. Someone you are supposed to trust and rely on for your health..putty that in " notes" was wrong. She should of talked about it with you period! And not recognizing that you have lost weight..? Sounds like she wasn't a very observant tuned in Dr. Don't you dare turn it around on yourself! You're doing good and are making changes. You look good!

I think all of them have some kind of negative, do what u think what will work best for u n ur body. I'm on the depo shot, n it is a weight gainer, but I haven't had any side affects. Good luck.

my sis has an iud and it’s pretty good tbh, no periods, no pregnancy, some spotting and it hurts just a little bit. i’m currently trying to get it before college bc my periods are heavy and extremely painful, iuds and the pills are the most common :)

I have the mirena. I had very heavy periods. At one point I was bleeding for 3 months straight.I always had issues. It was March and that April I was getting married. Haven’t had a period since then. Before that I go a shot every month can’t remember the name but basically it puts you in to menopause. I would tell Karli to try it if she finds it’s not working she could have it removed. You don’t feel it inside you. If she gets iit give it a few months then before throwing in the towel. I think she would happy with it.
