As the current owner of 118i for five months Pros : Best interior quality and lay-out in this segment, better than benz A-class in terms of material quality. Sporty drive and nice handling compare to other hatchs. Many extra feature pre-included so cost effective. Cons : Hard suspension setting specially M sports suspension setting makes even firmer. That means if you prefer comfort driving rather than sporty, you need to choose A-class instead BMW1. Fuel consumption on 3 cylinder of BMW is not that great. I owned Audi Q3 before this car, two cars have very similar output but Audi's entry engine has better fuel economy.

Nice to hear and I agree. Not sure about fuel consumption though, I have the same engine in my 2019 MINI Cooper and average is around 8 litres which is in my opinion really good

@@crospotter13 it's no use comparing fuel consumption like that. I drive the Ford Focus 1.5L 3-cyl 150hp. Consumption is 6.1L/100km Super E95 with my driving style/profile.

Good review. The car does sound very quiet, even on the highway. I will be replacing my golf 7.5 in Spring 2021 and I hope to buy the new 118i m sport. It looks awesome compared to the golf. Thanks for the information in the review.

Great video. I don't normally watch this kind of thing but something about the way you film and talk made me stick. Car looks extremely tasteful. Comfortable and powerful without showing off too much. A real patrician's choice. My dad was a huge car buff and big fan of BMWs, especially the Series 1. He had an old BMW from the early 80s which was a real classic and he used to say that if he won the euromillions lottery or had unlimited money he would still just get a Series 1 and drive around in that, he loved the look and performance of the brand so much. I think he would be disappointed about the loss of rear-wheel drive but would absolutely love the look and interior of these new models. Wish he was around to see it. Something I'd like to ask you: the rear windows on this model look tinted but I don't see the option on BMW's website. Is this an aftermarket change?

Price for this configuration in the video? Nice car, what do you prefer, this one or the new Audi A3? I think this is maybe better build and has more refined interior, but i prefer audi for the exterior and general look

Hello, this car was on “action”, special offer for around 33.000€ which is an awesome value for money. I think that special offer expired now so I think few thousand euros more now. To be honest - this or Audi A3 would be a tough choice as I think those 2 cars are top of the class right now. Drove them both (Audi was on the channel last month, you can check out that POV drive: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pamxiYdvgLB3fck) I think Audi has better looking interior but this one beats it by little in terms of quality (this is top of the class for me), but it’s not that flashy - screens and that is pretty standard. Interior design is just beaufiful here, my favorite in class. And also driving aspect is very close, I would say BMW is maybe a bit better. So overall some features are better with Audi some with BMW so personal taste is the key factor here as both cars are amazing

What I don't understand is why BMW makes the speedometer the same for all its cars. This for example is only a 118i (140 hp) and it has the same number (260 kph) on the speedometer as on my new BMW M 440i xDrive Coupé (381 hp). Audi and Mercedes, on the other hand, distinguish between a less powerful car and a more powerful car and you can easily see a speedometer with 300 kph on it. If my M440i had been from Audi or Mercedes it would have had at least 280/300 kph on the speedometer .

I’ve got this car as well, but I notice that there is quite a lot of tyre noise above 120km/h. Did you notice as well?

azuris221 bit disappointed above 120km/h, but I drove a 3 and 5 series before. So, maybe I got used to these vehicles. But, it is VERY quiet below 100km/h.

Question is will it drive through water any deeper than about 2 inches without flooding the engine ! This im afraid is the weak point of BMWs. Im in the north in the UK, if it cant cope with extreme weather then sadly its not worth the money. I need an all rounder.

I have one. My biggest issue is the gearbox. The kickdown is slow as sh..! Even in sport mode! Pedal to the floor wait…..wait…..wait….. theres the gear lets go….

140 is for 2021 model, 2019/2020 (previous gen) had 136 HP So that’s interesting not sure why it says 136 if you are talking about 2021 model?

Bonjour, j'ai donc eu une voiture pendant 2 jours, et elle faisait environ 7,9 litres combinés. J'ai le même moteur dans ma MINI Cooper 2019, et la consommation de ma voiture est comme ça: 6 litres sur autoroute (130 km / h), et une consommation combinée d'environ 7,8 litres la première année, ce qui est très bon je pense
