I just came here 8 years later, to say these are still a badass 4 door sedan in 2024. I would absolutely own one if I had the financial means and opportunity. B58 engine is virtually bulletproof. So easy to get extra performance from these engines with a few modifications. And if your 340i has the M Sport and Track Package also? It's a no brainer.

I so would have bought my my car from you. My salesmen at BMW OKC, lied to me about having the car I was looking for twice. So my wife said let's take a road trip, and bought it from the Dallas store. Luckily there service department has been helpful. Belt pully tensioner broke, and was rattling like hell first week of ownership. Easy warranty fix, and has been great ever since. Next time we are in California, or your area we will definitely buy you lunch. Your Vlogs are fantastic! Cheers!

Are the brakes with the Track Handling package that much different then the stock ones on the 340i? I'm told the rear is upgraded, but the fronts are basically the same. I'm bummed because you can't get the 403M wheels and you also loose fog lights with the THP.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! The real question is, does BMW still include the rechargeable flashlight in the glove box? I had one in my old 2004 325i but don't seem to find one in my current 2009 328i X-Drive.

+Robert Wong This is a projection based on intelligence from someone in BMW. It does not guarantee it. BMW likely will make a special version of the engine for the M240i (given that the M235i has a special version of the N55), so there's the possibility they could just wait for the LCI in '18. I just ordered a 2016 regardless, as the N55 is a fantastic engine already - and in the M235i version it's making comparable power to the 340i. If you're in the market, it's worth pulling the trigger Rather than waiting 8-10 months!

+Johannes Kirsch The 340i is new for the 2016 model line up. It replaced the 335i of 2015. In the United States we get the next year models early. Sometimes starting as early as July the year before.

Thank you for the reply, i'm new to the BMW, i own Mercedes and i've been considering the 340i. Not sold on this tech that can't check your own oil. Once sensor error and you can potentially blow your engine. Awesome cars nevertheless .

Think about it. For your to have a "blown engine" you'd have to have a triple failure. First, the oil level sensor would have to fail. Second, the failing sensor would somehow not throw a code. Third, you'd have to be experiencing significant oil loss/consumption between oil changes. The lack of an oil dipstick used to bother me, but there's about 100 other systems and points of failure that I'd be more concerned about on a modern BMW. Read the forums. There's literally NO ONE complaining about a seized engine due to the lack of a dipstick.
