The interior is why a lot of ppl stepped away from BMW to Audi (during the Bangle period). Then it got better, the 650 from 2012!! Then that interior scaled down/was copied to the "lower series" and yeh, its becomming boring again. Such a shame, they still drive great but i got to enjoy the interior too.

This purple exterior colour is a great addition to the 2 Series Coupe G42 line-up, but IMHO, the Portimao Blue and the Carbon Black paints suits best for this car.

This car is almost our exact spec on the M240ix we have on order! So excited. Wanted a purple BMW since Techno Violet made its debut. Ours is a full shadowline trim car and the interior will have full piano black finishes. Kinda wishing we would have done the aluminum now that I have seen it here.

Maybe you should consider stopping this on-going comparison to Mat Watson. Let him do his thing, you guys do yours. Imo using 1-ft rollout with a gps tool is dumb and necessary only at the drag strip. Nobody cares about 3-60mph times. Not to mention that 0-100 kmh is the more relevant interval for 85% of the planet. Anyway, v good vid as always!

We have so many questions coming to us why our times are „slower“ than Matt, Joe Achilles, Daniel Abt, and many others using the same GPS device. That’s why we needed to make this transparent in a few videos, hope this explains it. If everybody is good now I guess we don’t need to explain it anymore😅 And it’s not about bashing about other channels but about explaining why there’s a difference:)

Here in the UK 0-100 kph is a funny figure as it's 0-62mph to us. We have used the 0-60mph for many decades, so that is in part why we get lower times for sprints. I'm not a fan of 0-XX times, as some cars require a gear change just before 100kmp or 60-mph and some don't. ) I do like the 100-200kph metric though, as it shows the true grunt of a cars performance in the real world (conditions permitting of course)

My current 2020 M240i is the first car I've honestly been happy with long term, very little to complain about. It's on a lease and I was planning on stepping out of new cars after the lease and going back to used to eliminate monthly car payments, but now I'm wagering the possibility of a new 2 series. More power, all the features I'm missing, although a bit more expensive. Granted it'll likely be more than I'd want to pay, but the thought of a 2023+ M2 with X-Drive with the RWD selection like the M8 and M5...that would be sweet. AWD for our 6 months of winter, slap it into RWD for the dry days. To be happy with a vehicle and making payments, or maybe happy or maybe not with no payments (but repairs)...

Great review and great car for sure however you have not used launch control which would make your results more relevant. In both attempts I have not seen the message that launch control is active and that is most probably cause you switched DSC completely off. It is visible on your dashboard "DSCOFF". You have to put DSC into Sport mode then car will be ready to launch. I have managed a 4.2s from 0-100kmh in my M340i so I would expect this to be a bit faster taken in consideration that it should be much lighter.

Mega, ich werd alles dafür tun den zu bestellen :D Kurze Frage, hast Du vielleicht die Möglichkeit den überarbeiteten M135i xDrive F40 zu zeigen? Es gab ein Fahrwerksupdate und auch ein Sound-Update. Offensichtlich hat Sound mehr Bedeutung bei BMW bekommen, denn im Vergleich zum M340i klingt der hier wirklich kerniger, wenn das beim M135i auch gelungen ist, wäre das echt klasse.

Richtig, finde ich auch: Vor allem in den oberen Drehzahlen beim Ausdrehen klingt der hier deutlich greller-schreiender Der B58 zb im M140 war sonst obenrum recht dumpf

I love this. Looks like BMW went back to their routes with this one and would buy it if I didn't have 2 kids. If I could I would have the M240i xDrive with that red interior with the Melbourne Red or Portimao blue. This, 3, 5, 8, X3, X5 look and drive good. Still doesn't excuse that abysmal excuse of a designer for his crimes against car design and humanity with the 2 Gran Coupé, 4/M4, 7 Series, X4/X6, X7, i4 and his worst shitebox of them all, the biggest crime of them all... the brand new iX.
