I dont know if you will read this, but I entered my first tournament with my 11 year old nephew against 42 boats with adult anglers. We didnt have any elctronics/fish finder. Just gut instinct. We ended up with only 13 and a half pounds with five and we placed third out of 42. You inspired me to jump in the tournaments. And I got my nephew off his gaming console. Thank you for the inspiration

One thing that I truly have loved so far in the 10 minutes I’ve watched is how informative you were. I fish tournaments all the time and consider myself a decent fisherman but still when I go to buy new products there are so many options it’s hard to figure out which one you really need or want. Well Scott I already told Dudley, but you need to make a favorite swimbait rod. Here's a list of what it needs. -17" full Eva rear grip (in the camo color like the defender) -8' rod -acid rap guides -a fast and a medium fast in the line up for each different model for jighooks and treble hooks -2-8oz.,4-8oz., and a 1-5oz. rating -a good under $200 price -NOT A BIG FORE GRIP ONLY LIKE 1 INCH If you don't mind, please run this by Winston and please make it for those hardcore real fishermen. If you need help designing it I will gladly test and tell you what it needs lol.

Tournament concluded today and no doubt in my mind prefishing,,,, but primarily pre running over the lake, graphing and finding those spots paid off in a big way , and this is a trend which cannot be overlooked. Bolton, Lebrun, Thrift , Warren, and for that matter the whole top ten or so had done immense homework. It's becoming almost a given, that if it comes down to offshore, which it does often, then many hours of using your electronics, running over the lake is a must. Those same areas may not produce the same year after year, obviously with the water level of the lake so high, it affects things, but no doubt it's a homework game. Ditches, drains, ledges, grass offshore, you name it, all these factors mattered. While I'm no pro fisherman, an average amateur at the very best, it's clear to see that if you are not adapting to today's electronics and using them to your advantage, you are being left behind,, especially, especially offshore.

No haven’t ever done any ice fishing but thinking next year I might equip myself to start. I usually fish the streams for steelhead most the winter but it gets slow late in season. I Just purchased my first boat last summer so been working on getting that all rigged up this winter so I’m ready in the spring.

That lure that Tom had that swelled up is because of heat. We use to boil water and dip hot spots in it so they would swell, the lure would float a little higher and we could work it over grass a little easier.
