Panzerfausts were designed to be able to fire from confined spaces. Unlike some other portable AT weapons like the bazooka and panzerschreck they didn’t use a rocket projectile. Their propellant was a black powder charge, so it was in some ways very similar to a firearm. Backblast was fairly tame.

awesome bat rep, thank you. here in Alaska, we use a GM so we can have double blind battles instead of encounter cards. but the cards are a cool idea if only two people are playing

I prefer to have a dedicated GM as well, but this is all we had. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

PIATs could be used in an confined space. I would have thought he would have covered the road with that PaK43. I think that was the best avenue of attack for it and in ambush is would be brutal. Should have smoked the board and run your infantry forward. Bridge assaults are always hard and it is always very bloody. Smoke, smoke, smoke! ;) Great game and keep, keeping it WEIRD!!!

Maybe Russ will chime in on this one, but from my perspective 88 had good coverage of the road from there. It's only after he blew up the halftrack that he couldn't see the other vehicles. Agreed about the smoke. Smoke always seems to be waaaaay more effective than the standard bombardment. Although, as I recall, the SS and the sappers had IR.

Yeah where it was at the start of the game it had a good line of sight on anything that came up that road, unfortunately it actually worked for once on the half track which meant i coudn't do anything ese with it for the rest of the game except use it against some infantry in a building.. if i had known it was going to work i would have let the half track passed and waited for the tank :)
