This show had a tremendous impact on me. They had real, substantive discussions about art. ON TV! It definitely inspired me to be a creator.

I loved the show.95 percent or more, for me Roger Ebert was who I went by for a review-- I could miss his review, see the film, then check it after and we aligned more often than not. I was so sad when he passed away.

Siskel was the more discerning and critical, while Ebert was more likely to fall in love with a film because certain parts of it worked for him rather than considering it overall. Siskel once told him, If you like the actress, date the actress, don't see the movie! Ebert was more than willing to see the movie for the actress.

I was more of a Roger guy because he had a more open sense of humor and was not as tight assed as Siskel at times. Though them bagging on early '80s horror was some of the most comical stuff ever.

I loved watching their show. I watched not because I was interested in the movies that they talked but to listen to them go back and forth. Whether it was to agree on a movie or disagree, they made the show interesting. I'm glad that their animosity towards each other didn't come out in the show, they were all business.

There were great movies back then,fantastic actors and actresses,Nothing like that today to warrant that type of show.

I'm gonna have to debunk his claim here. Siskel and Ebert didn't really hate each other. Roger Ebert said this during the Gene Siskel tribute show.

It’s a good read. I feel like once Siskel and Ebert died, film criticism died as well.

who is that reporter? She’s a good looking woman whose curvy body fills that dress nicely. Anyways I came for the video about this book. I haven’t read it yet but i look forward to it. I know enough about siskel and ebert to know their lives were anything but boring. I still miss them and the show. RIP Gene and Roger. Those of us who are old enough to have watched your show still miss you both.

I was a classical music critic for a print magazine for a few years. It's pretty draining, in ways I didn't expect. 😅
