Read what you own. Incredible concept, I need to get on that.

Looks good! Now more space to start double stacking again. Walk well soon!

I love the bookshelves! I desperately need more but I'm out of wall space lol. I hope you heal up quickly!

Thank you. I do have a Kallax-style shelf just splitting a room, effectively becoming its own wall. It's not ideal, but an option for some rooms.

I am so jealous of people who have enough space in the house to house all of their books, vertical,y AND without double-stacking (I have 6 separate bookcases in my house, three of which were made by my dad, and my books STILL feel cramped but trying to fit a seventh in my lil unit would be, if not impossible, difficult and would require rearranging furniture in already cramped quarters)

I had to settle for behind the bed for this reason. If I got rid of the pesky humans in my home I could squeeze in a few more. But really I probably need to pare down my collection.

Those are some great looking shelves! I read the entire "Dune" series during the pandemic and thoroughly enjoyed them all (except the last one. Meh.) "Children of Dune" and especially "God Emperor of Dune" were my favorite out of the series. It's crazy how the first novel only scratches the surface of the overall story.
@DanielsBibliophagy9 ай бұрын
So far the first is my favorite but I agree. The world feels very lived in. I like how the history is mysterious but we are given just enough to really speculate on the greater timeline.

I'm amazed at how uniform in size your books are, I seem to have a huge variation. I read Dune Messiah ages ago, I really need to get to Children.
@DanielsBibliophagy9 ай бұрын
The odd sizes have made their way to other shelves. Children of Dune is definitely worth it in my opinion. It made me appreciate the direction that was taken in Messiah.

The new shelves look great and very cozy! Even though I’m so happy to be doing the read what you own challenge, I still love seeing so many unread books on my shelves because it makes me feel like there could be so many hidden gems there lol. I started Dune in October, and I really need to finish it! Just curious, do you have a favorite Star Trek novel so far from any particular franchise?

@@DanielsBibliophagy both I guess ha. I’ve been wanting to try one out, but I would say I’m the most familiar with TNG
@DanielsBibliophagy9 ай бұрын
@@bookstalgic I'd recommend anything by Diane Duane or Christopher Bennett. When I was younger I really liked the Q Continuum series by Greg Cox but I haven't read them lately. Honestly I feel like a lot of the Next Generation books aren't that great. The original series lends itself better to one-off novels. Sarek is really good if you've seen the movies.
