Thanks for the offer! It turns out that our boot salesman did in fact give us a recommendation for a local cobbler whose work he is familiar with, and he said that we could get the boots fixed. We intend to.

I've had a pair of El Dorado's and they were great. The last pair of boots I bought were at Cowtown in Scottsdale. I see there is a Boot Barn in the city I currently live in .. will have to mosey down and check them out! Thanks for another great video.

Hi Dale when myself and family took a holiday in Las Vegas last year. We purchased three pair of boots from a small boot shop in one of the shopping malls off the strip, what fantastic price got an excellent deal from the store love them my last pair I had my uncle sent over from Massachusetts I was 13 years old the envy of the neighbourhood. That was 49 years ago lol. Keep up the great vlogs one day we’ll bump into you in Las Vegas and buy you a dram. 👍👍

Boot Barn bought out the regional Sheplers which was the original largest western wear store and catalog selling world wide before most companies began large scale mail order. Sheplers started in Wichita, KS apprx. 45 years ago. Very similar set up for both companies retail store. I counted their inventory for decades twice a year.

Boot barn is a great place. Before boot barn was a thing, we had a western store in Oakland. Ron Ritchards. Had everything boots, hats, saddles, tack and square dancing dresses. Even some of his taxidermy horses. That’s was my go to for boots and hats. In fact, I was 3rd generation buying stuff there. Unfortunately, it’s long gone.

Good quality boots will last you a lifetime if they are well maintained. The hole in the vamp is rare but Dan Post are not the boots they use to be back in the day. Eldorado boots appear to better quality boots so they should last longer. Remember maintenance is key to boot longevity.

Right across the street in the Outlet Shops is the Boot Barn Outlet store where you can get three pairs of boots for the price of one.

I'm saving up for a pair of Wrangler waterproof hiking boots that cost $145.00. I cannot wear cowboy boots as my toes go straight across and it is hard to find non pointed toe boots. Right now it is National Western in Denver so stores are crowded.

If you still want to give cowboy boots a shot look for square toe boots or even wide square toe I have the same problem and tried a pair of square toed cowboy boots and it was a total game changer

Aaron gave a terrific suggestion - our Boot Barn does have a big selection of square-toed boots - I am pretty sure Ariat makes some styles as well as other brands. But...nothing wrong with waterproof hiking boots - Dale and I both have a pair of those and they have served us well out in the desert.

Yes, actually, it was Shepler's here. There was a big store at Decatur and Sahara, which is where we shopped, and also one inside Sam's Town. Shepler's merged with Boot Barn in or around 2015 I think.

Did Boot Barn pay for your video? Boot Barn is VERRRRRRY expensive. You can get a pair of regular dark rigid Wrangler 13mwz jeans for $19.98, while they are $36.99 at Boot Barn. They don't impressive me at all. (A good cobbler should be able to fix that small hole.) Those El Dorado boots are $329.00 on most websites.

No, of course not - no one pays for any video we make except ourselves. We do lots of videos at expensive places - Bellagio, Wynn, Cosmo, etc, and truthfully, it is primarily about making good and interesting content for our channel. About Boot Barn...we were loyal shoppers at Shepler's for many many years, and when Sheplers became Boot Barn, we just continued (while lamenting the loss of the great Shepler's postcard coupon sales). We are certain that anything we buy at Boot Barn can be had online for less, but for Dale, it was about going to the store, looking at boots - because he had NO idea going in what he might choose - and having the experience of the in-person sale. Plus, as a bonus, we filmed it for our channel. We appreciate you watching. 😊

Matt sounds kinda clueless...a real piece of advice for pull on boots is to make sure the instep is snug around the top of your foot on the metatarsals. There should be no pressure on your toes and the back of your heel should slide about an inch to an inch and a half up in the boot when walking, the sole will become more flexible and the leather upper will form to your foot and ankle perfectly and the heel slip will disappear in about a week. They won't feel like they fit perfectly in the store because you have to break boots in.
