So, the beauty boost is supposed to be like boxy premium, except each month you get to choose whether you want it or not. At least I got to choose. I think that’s better than blindly going in! Also, I think the perks that they are talking about are more opportunities to choose products and the sales. I understand that nothing is going to be ideal, but it’s a little bit better in my opinion. Much love❤

The moment they became more unknown brands I stopped subscribing. It was when I was just getting really into makeup and I wanted to try to better products to see if I liked them. Also so much of the stuff I wasn’t a fan of/did not work with my coloration. Despite filling out the profile.

​@@rigginsrallygirl I unsubbed two years bc of the unknown products (several I'd look up wld show only one or two products on the site, leading me to believe they were basically Alibaba bulk junk that you can pay to have a private label put on) and everything being opposite of my profile, which when I complained, was told that they don't use the profiles bc the fun of the box is to introduce you to products/shades you wouldn't try otherwise. I was just over getting brown lipsticks and boxes of junk that weren't anywhere near what they'd show, usually my box wasn't even one of the many versions they'd show. I think they set up these little "indie beauty company" websites (it's easy and cheap) buy bulk products from Alibaba and slap a custom label on. Long gone are the days of boxes filled w popular name brand stuff you'd find at sephora.

If you had any premium boxes that transferred over from the actual BoxyCharm then you automatically get signed up for beauty boost and it makes it the same price as the other premium box. Plus, you get your 6 items that you got with the other box. I am not good with explaining stuff, so I hope this helps. ❤

Yes, the boosted box is what replaced the boxycharm premium. So if you had a boxycharm premium subscription it converted into the boxycharm with beauty boost by ipsy.

Several years ago when I first tried Ipsy, it definitely had namebrand items because that’s how I became acquainted with such brands as Colourpop and Two-Faced etc. Now I feel like it is just like taking a trip to the clearance section of Marshall’s cosmetics aisle… not worth the price of admission frankly!

Ipsy and boxycharm (more often boxycharm) back in the day definitely had a lot more well known brands. I cancelled my subscriptions a few years ago. I remember there being tarte, too faced, urban decay, ofra and a bunch of others.

Ok...this is the first time in my life I've gotten the exact same items as someone else. (1st box) I bet that means there's alot less variation than there used to be. And there absolutely used to be better brands. I remember getting Tarte, Too Faced, Elemis, Sol de Janeiro, and Dr Brandt all in one box. That J-Lo product reminds me of Jeffree's skin stuff only not as pretty. As for the boost, I prefer to boost my booty with pizza 🍕! 😅

Give it a couple of months for them to get it all sorted out and they will be back on track. Been with them for 8 years and once they get used to being just one big company they will get back to normal. The same thing happened when they went from having just the glam bag with sample size products to adding on ipsy plus with full size products.

Thanks so much for reminding me why I canceled Ipsy, many times. Ipsy decided that my words "Please cancel my subscription" actually meant "Please upgrade my membership to the most expensive tier of Ipsy $$$" Once that was cleared up I received one of the lower tier bags. After seeing your video I'm convinced that Ipsy does this more often than not & hopes it goes unnoticed or ignored. I enjoyed a few decent skincare items from Ipsy, but l used to read the ingredient list in things & I decided to just start making my own skincare products. Sry 4 going on for so long! When I complained 2 yrs ago about my boxes being opposite of my profile, I was told that the profiles are used to see what products subs favor overall, that it wasn't meant as an individual guide for your box and that the fun of sub boxes is to try shades and products you wouldn't otherwise choose. I canceled immediately after. It's so misleading to stress everyone do their profile to make us think it's to personalize when really it's a marketing tactic to see what products are most popular.

I cancelled ipsy way back when they raised the price for $20 to $30 dollars, and I'm not sad that I did, I never got anything that I just absolutely loved. I'm a goth and I wear very bold colors on my eyes because everything else is very black, and ipsy wanted to take my profile and throw it out the window. I got so much pastel washed out colors, my sister and daughters in laws lived all the stuff. But now I just order from gothic brands!

I preferred the Boxycharm shop to the Ipsy one. Boxycharm had reviews that were really helpful for me. However I first got a Boxycharm that didn’t contain my two add Ons or the products I picked. However I ended up receiving a whole other box with the correct products and addd Ons so I got double boxes this month! Can’t complain about that!

For three years, we got boxy charm for our daughters for Christmas. After receiving their first boxes after the merge, they decided to cancel. The products and value were so disappointing. In the boxy charm box the advantage value was 180 or higher. The ipsy box barley hit 100.

If you previously got Boxycharm Premium, you were defaulted to Beauty Boost. While $15 isn't a "deal" it's less than what you used to pay for Base and Premium, per month... And less waste.

The new perks is being able to choose 3 items out of the 5, which I like but we will see if the choices given to us will continue to be nice. I got two fenty products to choose and Drunk elephant blush and a Natasha Denona . The only choice I was like meh was my eyeshadow primer that I chose.

Being able to pick 3 items has always been that way for ipsy plus members. Calling it some new perk is deceiving towards boxy subscribers because you didn't know any different. I understand that it's new and exciting for some, but it's how ipsy has always done things. There are no new "perks" for existing ipsy members, everything is exactly the same. They hyped up this merge for absolutely nothing and has been more disappointing than anything.

Ipsy plus wasn’t available in Canada, which is where I am from. It came like months before the merge. I was lucky to get nice picks i guess. I got two pallettes ( the fenty for choice and the ND one that was picked for me.

I was skeptical when they said the products wouldn’t change,but I just got my first Boxycharm box marked Ipsy and I hate it. The products were brands I’ve never heard of, there was no foam protection inside to keep the products from sliding all over the place and potentially getting smashed, and every single item was skincare. They totally ignored my preferences. Boxy always had a good balance of makeup, skincare and makeup/skincare tools. If it isn’t any better next month, that’s it I’m out. I had subscribed to Ipsy a few years ago and ended it after about 7 months because it was crap. Compared to what I got, your items were fantastic….lol

I actually still enjoy the Boxycharm I got after the merge. I enjoyed being able to pick the products that I received in my box. That makes it more worth it to me. I only have the boxy base box so I don’t notice much of a difference, other than being able to choose some of my products, which I like. There’s still really good products. Well considering you pick your beauty boost it’s worth more than 40. I picked mine worth 90 this month. You don’t seem to pick any items so you are missing out. You won’t get a card because of the variations made when picking your items. Maybe if spending so much pick your items? Maybe pause your bag so you don’t receive it? Then you’d have no video. Your premium box converted to box plus boost. You could’ve had different better boxes if you made picks.

Alexandra 1.Did you update your beauty profile? It has changed and has more specific questions 2. Did you make your choices? You can choose 3 3. The beauty boost- there is a selection of items of at least $40 value. The main item this month was Jlo eye serum worth about $50 I’ve noticed that content creators that haven’t 1. updated their profile 2. Didn’t read all the info about the changes and 3. Didn’t make their choices have the same thing in common. All moan about the contents of the box on camera when they made little or no effort to get a good bag for themselves. I have found this month very frustrating watch content creators spouting misinformation when they’re the ones who made the mistakes. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m happy with the new boxycharm. But I’m also very involved in what I get sent. I change my profile every month towards the spoilers I want and haven’t gotten disappointed by more than one product in a box. I do beauty boost and got a jumbo size Fresh cleanser worth $71 for may. They do give you multiple choices to choose from. Their choice was an ole H cream. I think the waitlist thing is BS. If you want to spend the money you’re going to get it the next month. I’ve been noticing great brands like Pat McGrath and Bobbi Brown. So my experience is 100% different.

I had the original boxycharm base box, and now that its ipsy, i get to choose 3 items every month, and the other two are chosen for me (called ipsy power picks) I'm personally loving it so far, because being able to choose three items per month makes me feel like im getting more value for my money considering i know ill use and enjoy my picks. Yes mam I also had ipsy years ago... I really used to look forward to getting my Ipsy through the mail they had name brands and it was ok I still have some of the make-up like Tarte ECT.. Everything was going good until I got a 238.00 charge on my card.... for what? I had already paid for the month, come to find out they said I'd had not paid yet and I had well anyway it was a mess had to call my bank and get the payment stopped and I cancelled and never looked back!! I think ipsy is such a scam!!! Never again!!!

I don't really see any difference after these boxes have merged to the same company. Ipsy is still a bag with smaller products. Boxycharm is still a larger box with full sized products. Yeah the brands used to be a little better but it's the same otherwise. I don't see any trick or deception here. You can also now pick three custom items for your Boxycharm, which I love. I just didn't seem like a difficult or confusing transition to me 🤷‍♀️

I got the Kab highlight and mine was all broken too and was very upset. I was also supposed to get the Wander Beauty Eyeshadow palette and didn’t get it. They told me that they didn’t have enough in the inventory and gave me a refund. I was very upset, because I really wanted that palette. Plus they gave me a loose bronzer that was way too dark for my light complexion, so I can’t even use it. Very unhappy about my box. I did ask for a replacement for the highlight though.

I was charged for the April box then ipsy went. “Oops” you don’t get your April box because we sold out….. HELLO? You sold out of a box I’ve been subscribed to for SEVEN years AND WAS CHARGED FOR???? If you had BoxyPremium they would have changed you to BoxyCharm plus Beauty Boost so that is likely what happened to you. Apparently you can change your Beauty Boost item or I think you can skip it if it’s not worth it for you for the month.

Me too!!! What a shame! Boxycharm was so good. I was worried when I heard ipsy was taking over because I've had their products before and they're just... like you said, bottom of the barrel. I've been paying four boxycharm for almost 2 years and I canceled ipsy with my third box. The products are a joke. And the boxes show up like they've been in a wrestling match for days.

with the broken highlighter...add several drops of rubbing alcohol, place a paper towel on top and press it all back into the container, remove the paper towel and let it dry....good as new.... don't toss it

I think that Ipsy is giving you old products that they have stocked up in a warehouse! I'm so glad that I unsubscribed to everything over a year ago. I have shelves of highend makeup and skincare mostly from Boxycharm. With Ipsy at the helm of a formerly great business it's going to go down the tubes. Oh yeah! When we're doing the Christmas advent calendars this Christmas I'm going to remind you that you said you like mini sized things 😂

They cancelled all my boxy subscriptions when they combined websites. My ispy that I cancelled forever ago was attached to one email and ALL the boxys that I was subscribed to were on a different email that is more current and because they didn't match, they cancelled everything. I'm kinda upset about it so said screw it and haven't resubcribed. Upset me a bit as I've been a boxy subscriber for years with all the upgrades. Oh well, time to save each month and get something I know I'll love 😅

My last box I received Lawless Mascara, Tarte lippie, Natasha Denona cheek palette, Ofra Eyeshadow palette and a Luxie Brush set PLUS an Ace Beaute palette for resubscribing. I was floored. I've never received such a good box and I was actually excited for the next month (I usually unsub then resub for the extra item. I know, I know.) but the following box was full of indie products I've never heard of and I was disappointed as per usual. I've seen other unboxings of "boxycharm 2.0" and I'm highly underwhelmed and will probably NOT be resubscribing soon. Thanks for another great review, Mrs. Ryan! ❤️

I was so upset with my recent box. I ordered two "add ons" which I paid extra for. One was a Natasha Denona palette and another was a Pat McGrath lipstick. The palette arrived so broke two of the shades are almost unusable (out of 5) and my lipstick was missing. I am generally easy going and usually if I get a mistake in one of my beauty subscriptions I just let it go but I had paid extra for these items and so I emailed them. Got the replacement package in the mail. Lipstick was there, but instead of a ND palette, they sent me four individual "no name" eyeshadows from a brand I have never heard of. People purchase Natasha Denona for the quality. They could have subbed something more comparable in quality/price but they didn't. With all the recent changes, I'm thinking of unsubbing to them. I'm just over it.

Not saying that Beauty Boost is a must, but Ipsy does let you choose to pick out of 4-6 options for it. I chose the REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm™ Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask instead of the featured J Lo Beauty item

I finally got rid if all my boxes except for the Allure Beauty Box, it’s like $27 total with shipping included. It has a lot of high end and full size products and always contains some makeup, often Eyeshadow Palettes, maybe it’s one you could get and really enjoy and get the value that boxes should have.

Careful with allure tho, when I tried to cancel mine I had to cancel my debit card because allure kept charging me and when I called customer service they said there wasn't even anyone registered in my zip code that was subscribed to their box, but kept charging me.

Exactly. I cancelled, with my last Boxycharm Lux coming in Dec 2021, bcuz I actually couldn’t store 1 more product, and Ipsy a few months before that. At the time, the products and value were Great. I had been getting Boxy since their 2nd box, but they now seem like a bunch of junk. 😔

I do think the beauty boost is worth it bc so far we've gotten brands such as Drunk Elephant, Too Faced, Ole Henriksen and the item has had a retail value of around $60. It's just a guaranteed high end item worth a MINIMUM of $40 for $15, so honestly that's worth it to me. June's beauty boost is supposed to be the Natasha Denona Retro Glam palette, which is a very new palette of hers. I'm excited for that one.

Yes to the "Use to be Well Known Brands" question, absolutely! I subscribed to the Allure Beauty Box for years, then they stopped sending me Marc Jacobs and Sunday Riley and started sending cheap repeats, tiny store-website-only brands, poor quality products, etc WHILE raising their prices. I get inflation is a killer but it's so disappointing and definitely has kept me away from resubbing. Big sad.

Allure is still one of the better ones but they definitely did change half the stuff is sample sizes now. I got a box a few months ago and 2 of the items were one time use sample sizes that I can get for free.

Mini sponges are great for under the eyes. Actually lost my favorite tiny little sponge, can't find one that was of similar size. But honestly, great for under eyes and even highlighter, cause you want it in a specific area, and the bigger ones for me make it harder to control.

Theyre def misrepresenting the boxycharm boxes considering when you look at the photos they use to get you to subscribe show 5 full size all name brand products instead of the reality of 4 meh products from unknown brands mostly skincare and one name brand product. Sometimes you get lucky but most the time it’s a lot of random brands they got for nearly nothing so they’re profit is even larger

I'd definitely get ahold of them about the "beauty boost" because I wouldn't be surprised if they are auto charging Boxy Premium ppl for the boost. What a crock. If you had the Premium subscription from Boxycharm that's why you got the Boost product. Contact customer support and ask to cancel the Boost plus cancel your Glam Bag!!

Mine was the lowest priced box I've ever received. I even wrote them saying what happened?? Items weren't great. Gave it a one star. Won't resub after this yearly membership ends. At least I enjoy watching you open these!!
