I wonder how involved Nick and Giles English still are? A Financial Times article from last week about Bremont stated, "the brothers no longer have a significant stake in the business, control its direction, or have input into the design process, though they remain on the board as founders".

Yeah I think their involvement is now minimal, and most the company has been sold off to investors, which is why the entire identity has been binned, to try and turn a profit.

Have never been a fan of Bremont….. as they blatantly tried to inject history into their brand and products. They’ve been around since the 2000’s but thought sticking bits of iconic areoplanes into their watches makes them historic.

I do believe the history around the brand and buy into it. But it seems those limited run watches you alluded to, with the bits of historical items in them are pretty much the only sought after Bremonts

if you are going to have a watch with a 38 power reserve and that’s the first time I’ve heard that, that’s really a limiter. I’m not fussed on the Terranova and the biggest issue is it looks tremendously like the new Hamilton releases.

I wouldn't say I despise it... it just isn't Bremont. They have a strong identity! If they wanted to make field watches, they could have made smaller 2 part cases with the same design language as they always had! They didn't need a full rebrand

Always a big fan of most of what they did. Was the 1st watch I ever bought of any value, liked the watch and the brand. Went to the Wing which I would advise any watch enthusiast to do. Feels like a punch in the stomach. Shame. Rebrand is very poor

The new logo and designs look great. I will be buying one for sure. It's amazing how Rolex puts out the same old boring crap every year, along with the hideous green box, yet nobody complains. They hypocrisy in this hobby is astounding.

I'm not a big field watch fan to be honest. I was expecting good things from Bremont at watches and wonders. I must say, I'm underwhelmed. They have an amazing factory with some really passionate engineers and I really thought they would present something a bit more special. I love the new bracelet on the Supermarine, from the side it looked like a chain. I much preferred the previous logo as well. It reminded me of the old propellers on things like the Tiger Moth etc. Now it looks a bit too 'corporate'. Sorry Bremont.

Yeah I loved the company as it was previously. They've just lost their whole identity. The staff and factory is amazing, I was extremely hopeful about the company under Davide, however, this has made the outlook bleak. You can attest to how passionately I spoke about Bremont previously!

@@WatchYourselfJorge Selfridge's had a sale of ALL their Bremont stock, at 50% off. It was a strange miss mash in the display case. It took 1 week to sell 40% of the stock. And then it dribbed and drabbed down to the hard core 25% that wouldn't sell, over the subsequent 2 weeks. This is a massive problem for a luxury goods company.

It’s funny how a logo change can do that. When you invest in a brand you enter a relationship with that brand. When that brand decides to totally overhaul its image and its identity, all of a sudden and without warning or client engagement, it can feel like a personal challenge to both current and potential customers. Old customers ask: “why have you left me behind?” Whilst potential customers ask “you don’t seem that sure of yourself?”. Huge gamble and I can’t see it paying off

The new branding and the new line up stink. Anyone that is contemplating buying one needs to think twice as wearing one in public would no doubt have lowest of the low questioning your taste. I feel very sorry for existing owners who must be feeling pretty cheated right now. In the not too far future, Getting those Bremont in house movements serviced is going to get very tricky! My advice to owners of Bremonts is to wear it every day as your beater. Get as much out of it as you possibly can and at the point that it needs a service, just drop it in the recycling bin.

Yeah I'm not impressed. If I wanted a field watch I'd get a CW. Although, there are Bremonts I'd still get, namely some of the limited edition pieces, and the aviation pieces, such as they ALT1, I'm a big fan of that

Possibly the slimmest 300m diver out there. 904 steel. quick release and micro-adjust bracelet. Decorated case-back. 50hr PR. Gradient dial and super legible. Compared to TH, Breitling and other rivals, theres really nothing to substantive to criticise here..

Also, the new branding looks terrible to the vast majority of us, the dial looks flat and uninteresting and I hate the bracelet design on this too. They've thrown away everything people liked about the brand unfortunately.

Bremont have stated on IG the movts are regulated in house to cosc spec but do not send them to cosc for certification presumably to save money for consumers - but perhaps they should communicate this more. Not sure the dials have massively changed other than logo etc. Breitling catch flak all the time for changing from the wings logo but their sales have sky-rocketed. Let's see. Personally i wish them luck.

@@tonycuroni I wish them luck too. I have a personal relationship with the south west bremont sales rep and I'm a fan of the brand, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them on everything. The comparison with breitling is strained, as they went back to their old heritage logo. But for me the design language has absolutely changed. and the dials look somehow less balanced, with the new logo being too large on it for one. if the movements are tested in house they NEED to tell people. they always used to state on the watch description that they were rated internally to ISO standards, but the removal on the new releases is bound to raise eyebrows and make me and others question it. shouldnt have to search through social media for basic info on a watch, what are they thinking with that?

@@WatchYourselfJorge Design language has changed as it's a completely new line of field watches (and a new 300m Divers range). Some details may jar a little at first but thats to be expected when companies stride out in bold new directions. I think it's brave and a worthy endeavor. Plus these are additional to not instead of the previous models. All those remain on sale if people still want those.

Scrap 316 stainless £1.60 per kg. Scrap 904 stainless £1.75 per kg. So about £150 more per tonne. Or about 15p per watch. Rolex pulled the wool over everyones eyes with oyster steel 904 superior jiggerypokery.....

I'm not keen. My favourite of the whole release is the super basic Terra Nova, but honestly, Id rather a CW C65 Dune or something if I wanted a field watch. Looks so much better too, at way less than half the price! With a vastly superior power reserve too

I find their watches look alot better in the flesh. Ive owned 3 bremonts and about to purchse a 4th. Ill be visiting their Mayfair boutique end of may so hope to check out what these new releases are like in person before forming any opinion on them!

I’m not keen on the new logo and I’m not Wild about the Terranova but the other watch is lovely and the point is they would only have to do a small amount of stuff and it would be fantastic. I think they can use both logos. What I find very interesting is when people talk about British watchmaking, let’s hold that up next to Germany. We have almost as many watch brands as them, but their brands are much much stronger..

I think they’ve ruined any potential the brand had. Their designs weren’t for everyone but they had a very strong design language with some pretty interesting ideas like that triple band case. These new ones just look painfully generic and i think the new logo is awful. I’m also quite sad they seemed to have given up on their attempt to build their own movements for their watches. big thumbs down from me

I’m curious as to why you think Sellita are inferior to ETA? … Sellita is essentially a copy of ETA, with improvements. A COSC Sellita is as good as an ETA ..there’s no discernible difference .. except that more watchmakers can service Sellita. Seriously, you need to go talk to a good watchmaker and ask their opinion on Sellita vs ETA.

All I can add is I’ve spoken to arguably one of the best watchmakers in NYC and he told me in quite clear terms Sellita is inferior to ETA. He said the finishing, tolerances and overall quality are just not at the same level as ETA
