7:05 Surprisingly, not an illegal move. Mike just tapped into an obscure rule. Once a game, a knight can move like a rook or like a bishop. If moving like a rook, as had happened, it's the Hidan Amendment. If moving like a bishop, it's the Kakuzu Amendment. -Imagine how unstoppable Magnus would be if that really were legal in chess.-

Boston Mike should have won that game, even with the missed opportunity to trap the Queen. At 4:04, he spent a lot of time but he should have gone on the attack and moved to Qh4. There you threaten Qxg4+ and you have both knights and the vicinity to force a mate. Big Tex's rooks are not a threat because they are in bad positions. The f1 can't even move off the 1st rank without getting taken for free. That's why you don't have to worry about his Queen being so close because his rooks are in no position to help out. Taking the pawn on c2 was probably one of the worst moves because it gets his rook in the game with Rc1 with tempo to help out his Queen's attack on your King.

A bit of a late reaction. I'm binge watching Mike. Is there an uncensored version I can watch? Anyway, after; 1. Qc6, Ne7 The Knight from f5 lost control over the d6 square. White has 2. Qd6, And now you cannot take the Queen with the Queen. 2..., Qxd6 3. exd6, And both Knights are hanging. Instead of taking with the Queen, when the Knight from c5 moves, you lose the pawn on e6 with check. Same as in the game. 1. Qc6, Ne7 2. Qd6, Nb7 3. Qxe6+ A better try is; 1. Qc6, Nd4 Protects e6. 2. Qd6, Nb7 3. Qxd8+, Nxd8 The position is a bit passive. But the King can help and those two Knights can do a lot of damage to those Rooks. Even better is; 1. Qc6, Rc8! And now the Queen is trapped again. This time at the cost of a Rook and Knight. But you also get a pawn. 2. Qxc8, Qxc8 3. bxc5, Qxc5+ So, you are right. There was a second trap. But not with Ne7 tho. That first trap was quite remarkable. These 2 Knights! Amazing position.
