I think Carlini's idea for cleaning up the pawns without liquidating is much simpler and easier to calculate. In a blitz game, that makes it a superior strategy.

At 12:12 isn't Bxc4, Bxc4 Kxc4, Kxb2 Rxb1, Kxb1 a simpler line to calculate that also works. Because in that line you if the opponent plays Bxc4 you can force him to trade everything of. Edit: oh wait black can just take the pawn with his rook.

If you watch the computer evaluation bar, the computer hates black Bxc4. I agree that Rxb2 is a better idea. But I think black can only hope for a draw.
