James, I am one of the Golf Techs at the Dicks Sporting Goods here in Florida. While here in America you should pick up some Cut Blue Balls from a Walmart and test them out. They are super soft for a $20 A dozen Ball. Always found them to work very well around the green for me. Keep up the content love seeing the videos. Y’all need to come play some panhandle golf!
@thegolfingmusician63452 жыл бұрын
Went through a box of these and they shredded off my wedges like no other ball I’ve ever played. I guess there’s a reason they need them “Cut”. My go to ‘cheap’ ball is the Wilson Duosoft. Shot a 73 and 74 last week with them.

Been playing Maxfli for many years now and I love the tours especially since they’re $20 cheaper than ProV1s. They work for my skill level and MGS tests have their consistency levels just right behind Titleist. I always scoop up a bunch when they’re on sale.

Really liked the MaxFli Tour X when I tried it. Might be my normal ball. Want to test it against the Bridgestone e12, which I've only played once but really hit it well.
@James_Vaughn2 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough, I just picked up some of these and played with them this past Wednesday. They are long, due to the low spin I'm guessing. I had to readjust my clubbing because the first couple approach shots went over. I was comfortably hitting a club less, and did hit some real 'bombs' off the tee as well. I also hit a couple of very low spin knuckles, which fell out of the air, but did run quite a bit. All in all, not a terrible ball, would be great for scrambles, and even for general play, it didn't really affect my score any, once I adjusted to the distance, and the extra roll out.
@jimmahT2 жыл бұрын
Love listening to both of you taking 'Balls' ;)
@danielcohen31592 жыл бұрын
This was a fun video, James and Chris! The Bomb is a true Top Flite: low spin and hard feel and designed to be hit with one club and one club only. But there are also several lower compression models - and there have been for a very long time (for all y'all saying all Top Flites are rocks). The D2+Feel was really a good all-around ball. None of them is going to give the short game spin that the average golfer THINKS he needs. But every single one of them will provide the short game spin that he ACTUALLY needs.

I was given a couple sleeves of these during a local scramble tournament. The color of the balls were interesting, one was like a translucent blue and the other was a translucent orange. They feel like hitting rocks. Fun to bring out when just having a fun day with the boys though.

Isn’t golf great with the different shots that get you excited and wanting to play more? The bombed driver, long irons or fairway woods,nailed approach shots, bunkers and putting. You can play three rubbish shots into a green and sink a 20 foot putt and feel like a champion. Add in good company and them playing well = does it get much better. Love how James is competitive and reacts to a shot coming off and then Chris’s usual deadpan response
@jacobmccain80822 жыл бұрын
It absolutely matters how it feels for me. Especially off the putter. ProV1X would be perfect if it wasn't clicky off the putter. But it's the highest flying and spinning combo I've found so that's what I play.

Top Flite Hammer is a better ball, they have a feel version, and also a distance version, I found this ball to be the best combination of softer feel, medium spin and good distance at the price point than any other Ive ever played. My only concern was the roundness of the ball after seeing how unround many of the Callaway balls used to be when tested. The performace of a Titleist Range ball is also quite impressive but that is reaching a bit I guess seeing as how I could steal 105 of them for a cost of only ten dollars, jk of course. That is over 10 balls per quid.But what the hell is a quid anyway, sounds like something you buy off the counter at a gas station that gives you a bad case of heartburn. On a separate note has anyone noticed James threw all of Pete Cowan's swing advice out the window and ran back to his old swing and then blamed his new Mizuno's. James rewatch your Pete Cowan video, it is good stuff, try it again, and stop throwing great stuff under the bus because you put c tapers in your irons. You should have gone with the stock shaft, the new nippon.

The downside of all golf balls imo is the cover getting those goofy looking eyelashes from the grooves. Even the pro v1 I hit get them. That's why I don't hit the V1 any longer. No sense in paying $4-5 US a ball when I can hit kirkland for $1 and they do the same thing. My irons eat a couple each round.
