It's a best budget handheld I've handles yet... The cube xx look comfortable too but 4:3 ration is better than 1:1 especially for PSP.. i even sold my trimui samrt pro... because the controller on the 40xxh is better and although the screen isn't as great for PSP the 4 inch 4:3 is just enough to make psp decent. everything else older than PSP looks amazing and the 1:1 game are just slightly trimmed so overall 4:3 is best for retro and the controls feel great.

The RG40XX H is good! But I prefer the V. Smoother controls, better d-pad, and surprisingly nice to hold. The H's controls are a bit too stiff for my liking.

I'm noticing really uneven pixel sizes on some games. It was particularly noticeable on Super Mario World. Is there anything that can be done about that?

Yes there are options in RA that can change the resolution and scaling

Of you are only interested in low-end to medium performance then the rg40xx h but if you are looking for higher end emulation gaming the retroid pocket 4pro or the new retroid pocket 5 would be a better fit. And cheaper...I have put links to my last 2 videos of the retroid pocket 4 pro running Playstation 2 and Nintendo 3ds check them out! Also have more videos on wii, PS Vita, switch, and WiiU on the RP4Pro still to do. Hope this helps?

A few issues with this (I got mine yesterday). Can't make RA menu text bigger. Even if I change it in the sttings, it's stuck at a certain size. RA crashes when I open retro achievements through Quick Menu --> Achievements. Battery life is horrible. After havng a full charge in the morning, it's dead again at night. Not more than 1 hour of playtime during the day. My RG Arc and R36s lasts way longer.

Retro Achievements issue solved. You need to enter your RA user profile through Settings -> Retroarch Settings, not when in a game.

I think if you download the 64gb upgrade os from the Anbernic page it comes with it...but I would use a a new SD card and a 128gb card even though it's 64gb download...hope this helps

The Chinese have oversaturated the market with these handhelds. I hesitate to pick one up because in 10 minutes they're going to release a better one that does everything the one I have can't do.

I recommend saving up a few bucks and going for one of these that go around 250$ like Retroid Pocket 4 and only get one of these cheaper ones once a year if you feel like you need an expendable device for outdoor trips or usage in environment that is hazardois to them (like lots of dust in a garage or something like that). The bright side of these cheap ones is that they're... cheap. I mean, can't say how things look like where you live, but in my country the price of RH40 is equivalent to 5 medium size margharita pizzas or 10 packs of cigarettes. So it's not like they are a threat to the monthly budget.
