New Build! '62 Impala SS on a Custom Chassis & 24s

In this build series, we're taking a perfectly good 1962 Impala SS Convertible and making it a whole lot cooler.
We're stripping the car down to bare metal, making a few unique body modifications, building a custom chassis and dropping in a more modern powertrain. Oh, and the car will be laying frame on 24-inch wheels (or at least that's the goal!).

Hands down you guys are the best hotrod shop to ever build anything on wheels!!! If there are going to be tv shows about building hotrod cars it's a crime if this shop is not the main attraction. These cars make Bitchin Rides look like hot wheels!!! I'm a nobody in central Arkansas (3rd gen mechanic) but my hats off to you. I've never seen better craftsmanship in my life, unreal. I think the spoiler is just right. Follows body lines and looks good. Now where to put that convertible top when it’s down? Good luck with that!

Spoiler is super cool. Just right. I had mentioned to another builder that they should use Silicon bronze welding wire to use it on their mig welder when welding sheet metal. His response was he felt it would create a problem when it came to finish bodywork and paint. In otherwords, bad adhesion. Im taking it, you haven't experienced that problem.?

I’ve used Silicon Bronze TIG Rod and I’ve read in the fine print on some body fillers/primers, that they’re not compatible with Silicon Bronze. I think you’d have to choose particular products that’ll work with it

Many new car manufacturers use Silicon Bronze wire and MIG welding to join large body panels, like roof skins. I went through the Audi factory in Germany and witnessed this firsthand.
