Good job guys ! The actual pour didn't seem to take you all long to do, but damn it , the boss of that concrete company needs a good boot to the hole for messing y'all about so much .
@CraveThatCoinАй бұрын
Very fun watch this. Congrats on getting this stage completed Darren. Done a few concrete pours of similar size. A lot of people in the comments say this is easy but it's really not. The theory is very simple but making it happen is not. When it's going well it goes well when it goes bad it goes really bad. I was with a team of 4 pouring a swimming pool floor in a heat wave. Added huge amounts of water but it was still so stiff and I felt it just 1 minute on the rake.

It's not manic at all mate... its straight forward.. just pour to the level and tamp it off.... some people make it look hard... ive just done a 115m3 pour with just 2 blokes and a pump with 5 separate heights and a integral pool.... its not rocket science

Nice job guys. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't there be rebars in place to make the structure strong. When I had my extension done, the building control wanted the footing 2 meter deep with rebars all round.
@darrenthebuilderАй бұрын
You had bad ground that’s why they made you dig so deep and as rebar. Every foundation has to be designed and approved by an.Engineer. This is the most common system if the ground is good.

It’s a footing. It dosent require rebar. I’m guessing you’re not from the UK? Our build techniques aren’t the same as the USA or some other places. The house next door is a quarter of this depth and it’s not going anywhere lol. Foundations are fit and designed based on ground type.

I was about to ask you that, because with any pour over 6” must have reinforcement

This is fine here mate.. No rebar needed, some times we need claymaster, or deeper footing depending on tree type near the footing and their water Intake.. or maybe c35 c25 of fdn2 for sulphate resistance... or friction piles of ground is too bad or too many services.. would have all been passed by building Control. Darren does an A1 job...

In USA they make bulletproof foundations with rebar so they go nowhere. Then build the house out of cardboard, in a tornado zone.
