Rather than extend the kitchen cabinets to the ceiling, I ordered the gourmet kitchen with cabinets in all sides of the island. Plus different specialty drawers for blenders etc, pots and pans, and roll out shelves. I like to cook!

I don't like an open concept. I need my rooms separated. I'm just a little old style. Love the top of counters with glass to display things. I want a cabinet that slides out for my big mixer that will lift up to use. Is it better to buy things myself to find things cheaper or on sale?
