It was built by Wrightbus, but they don't own the design. Wright have a contract to build the first 1,000 and after that TfL can get other companies to build them, although the only way they will ever order that many is if they build the two door version (no middle door, normal rear door, wheelchair ramp moved to front door, but still with two staircases).

Your ride in the lower deck sounds like you are on a trolleybus, but then that's no surprise as the the drive is electric. The air conditioning on the upper deck seems as loud as an aeroplane. Thanks for posting.

Tbh these are great buses, and they have air con but that is why the windows upstairs don't have openings. As that way the air con would work properly. Plus looking like the design would stay the same and manufacturer would do too

It's a variant of the DB300H as far as I'm aware - it's definitely not a full Volvo chassis as there is no Volvo cab.

Time to scrap them, as far to dangerous to board or alight from upper deck while moving, crap suspension and lousy seating on lower deck. Doors are too slow, can’t stick those door buzzers, just an inferior bus. Let’s hope a future Mayor sells them on, or sends them to the scrap yard.

Jack Sugden fair enough but it’s a British design, no different to alighting from the upper deck than most other buses whilst moving. Agreed on the buzzers though 😂
