You can fit a summer winter switch to waeco fridge which drops the current draw from 6 to 3 amp. The crx80 is probably the pick of all the 80l uprights as it has as electronic thermostat and removable freezer box

Is that only for Waeco fridges or something that can be fitted to all 12V fridges?

I should also add the voltage drop on the factory vista wiring is over 1.5 volts and causes the fridge to drop out on low voltage all the time. Any your right the cr80 is a rubbish fridge

my Waeco CFX 80, which was bought in 2009 is still running in the back of my 4wd 24/7 and with just a 6 pack in the fridge (just in case) is only drawing appox 4 amps on the normal settings... When it is is full including freezer it is only drawing 2.5 amps.. with a 200amp/h lithium without charging it can run for about 12 days before the battery gets to around 11 volts

Are you still happy with the bushman. I'm considering switching from an Engel chest fridge purely for the weight and space saving point of view I heard they struggle to keep things cold in hotter climates and they frosting up a lot and need to be thawed out every week or 2, can you give me your personal experience with it please? Thanks mate

Hay Josh, I haven’t experienced such issues. The Bushman’s is always cold and holds temperature well, I haven’t experienced any frosting or other issues. Next to the lithium it’s probably the best upgrade I’ve made to or Van. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated 🤙🏽
