So many people complain about the Tokiko calipers and are too quick to swap 'em out for heavier six pots from a later model bike, even another brand. After doing so they sing the praises of how well the brakes now perform. Truth be told if they simply serviced their old OEM calipers they'd achieve the same result. Most often those modifying or swapping out their brake caliper simply don't understand hydraulics or fluid dynamics. If there were no mods or extra parts used to install your fake Brembos, I suspect they were likely the OEM Tokiko calipers but with the brand casting filed off and the fake sticker added. No doubt no harm done and you'll continue to enjoy your ZZR for many more years (like I have with my D5).

Thanks mate. I had this exact conversation recently with the previous owner of the bike (@HeadRace) who basically said the old Tokico calipers are really easy to recondition. I've still got them so I'll keep them as spares. Thanks for your comment and happy riding on your D5 sir!
