Great video Rich. I have started using the Canon Connect app, which is a great, simple way to update the firmware on my R5. Cheers Keith

Thanks for sharing that Keith, I'm old school! Much safer that way the CC App sometimes loses connection for me! Cheers R

Hi Richard, Good video to put out, I think many people forget or are ignorant to the facts and benefits of firmware upgrades. I have just done my R6ii, even easier to do now via the Canon connect app, and in my case it too was a quite a major update. Lots of bug fixes, but also a big update on the AI part of the AF learning system. Can't wait to try it out and see how much better it is now, not that it was bad anyway! I'm with you on the update thing too, leave it a couple of weeks after release to iron out any issues; then if all good get it done. Thanks for sharing. Keeo on keeping on mate! Best, Nick

Thanks Nick, yeah lots do it via the Cam connect App, I like to do it the old way in case in connection failure where you could could potentially have issues, my way for me is just much safer. My camera connect sometimes plays up so for me, the old way has never failed me. Good to leave it for a bit, just in case! Cheers mate👍

Just updated my R5 MKII m8, first time using the Canon connect app to upgrade the firmware, no probs and it alerts you to firmware upgrades as soon as you open up the app on your phone. Not sure if you have used the Canon connect app ?, well worth a look if you have not m8. Keep up the good work ;-), & mon the ospreys lol

Thanks mate, glad you got yours done. I use the Camera Connect App for remote shooting etc but I prefer to do a firmware the old school way in case the connection fails mid update and screws the camera up, heard that happening before, this way a fresh battery, not touching buttons I know it's not going to fail. Cheers Rich

Hello your video was helpful. Does it matter what card that you use for the update? thank you
@RichardBirchett19 күн бұрын
Hi Debbie, Glad it was useful, it doesn’t matter if it’s the SD or CFexpress type B cards. I’d always use the CF express over the SD but that’s out of habit. Cheers R 👍

Hello, congratulations for your channel and for your professionalism, a question in my canon r3, an error 70 and 02 has appeared and it won't let me format or have access to the cfast card, do you think it's an error in the camera or the card? Since the card works very well on the computer, thank you and I hope you can help me.

Hi there, My pleasure and thanks for watching the video. The Err 70 is a malfunction with the image and may need to be looked at by Canon, and the Err 02 is something to do with the memory card hence you may not be able to write to it, have you tried a different card? Or have you bent any pins that the CFExpress B card slots in to? If the computer reads it okay it could be the Camera. Best ask Canon for assistance. Cheers Rich

Nice one Michael, we all do it differently and for me the old way is much safer and it's not failed me yet! Might be quicker via apps ect, but for me I like it that way. Cheers Rich
