Seems like maxime was playing the new cappena precon with little to no additions. Held up surprisingly well edit: never mind looked at the decklist, a few changes there. But I feel like every card played was in the precon lol

Came to watch Kaalia. Kaalia dogpiled by the entire table. Le sigh. Also; Felix plays Serra Ascendant and becomes the archenemy of the table...as the entire table boosts him in steamrolling over Marie. :|

To be fair you watched 90% of Kaalia games you either dogpile the person or they steamroll you in a turn or two. If you stick such high power commanders in your command zone that can just win on their attacks it comes with the territory

On turn 8 when Felix swings at Jalbert with Serra Ascendant, should he not have triggered his witch of the moors - ascendant still has lifelink even when it's small no?

It's dependent on life total so depending on the person's life total is your answer because it only gains life if you're above 30

Serra Ascendant naturally has lifelink, so yes it should have triggered the Witch. It gains +5/+5 and flying depending on life total, but always has lifelink

It didn’t deal any damage because the shield token on the blocker prevented the damage. No damage done, no life gained.

When Marie puts out the plains on turn 2, wich wasnt in her opening hand, she should have cast lightning greaves. Casting Kaalia on turn 3 resulting in an archfiend of despair a turn ealier. Man I love these kind of SURPRISE BONK decks!

Big fail on the threat assessment here... killing Kaalia before the lifegain garbage. That Demon was shutting that deck down.

I disagree. Kaalia should always be targeted because of her ability. The prevention on lifegan slowed the Ikra/Tymna player good enough. The goad deck had the ability to deal with swingers from that deck anyways with goad, whereas the Bant deck was also able to hold themselves up. But when Kaalia cheats in big busted Angels/Demons/Dragons it can be too late. And the lifegain deck couldn't keep up anyways and ended up conceding.

Difficult call. es I see were you are comming from, but Kaalia is sadly a super deadly and heavily swinging commander. She can go from "Oh look my board is empty" to "Well now you are fucked" in one combat phase.

Kaalia can kill anyone out of nowhere with Master of Cruelties, cheat Avacyn out and the Armageddon the board... she's too dangerous. Even the goad deck can't ignore her, because once all other opponents are gone, goaded creatures can attack the goad player.

@@lokumo13 it's only 1 big thing per turn. The Ikra deck had a massive engine going. Think people are overly scared of Kaalia. She's slow and not nearly as scary as she used to be.

Great game guys. A opinion from a kaalia's fan, I really don' t like kaalia of the vast, the zenith seeker it's much better version. When you play of vast you become the target on the table and she doesn't give much resources to protect you. The zenith seeker gives you draw advantage and stay cool on the game.
