I don't think you can beat a black cardigan for usefulness, style, wearability, etc., and am glad you got yours done with such great results. That silk jersey is amazing! As far as cleaning, when things are in place most people don't notice much more than that - I'm paying attention to the people when I'm a guest, and am just grateful to be invited 😄. Nobody should be looking in anyone's cabinets when they visit!!! Love the sound of the waterfall in your garden - like a little bit of heaven on earth.

Great video, Stephanie. I like that cardigan on you and will start looking at natural fibers more now. When I started sewing garments again I had a hard time finding things that I liked and did get several pieces in a poly. Now I am more informed thanks to people like you and Karina from lifting Pins and Needles. The garden is beautiful. It takes a certain vision to do what y’all have done. ❤

Love the duster!! Maybe you could do your dusting for company wearing it and get more done😅😂. I would love to see the burn test. I've not done it. Oh how it love that silky print, I'd be tempted to make a shift dress and still wear the cardigan. You could also add a top over the dress. Just a thought. I transfer all my patterns too, it just makes since when doing alterations. I hear ya on having company, at least it gets the house clean 😂. Loving your greenhouse, wish I could walk through in the morning with a cup of coffee. Happy sewing, love your channel 😁❤

Silk knit? Yes please! I love your cardigan. I always love a long cardigan, even tunic length, with a top and leggings and boots. So chic. When I have company I don't just clean my house, I redesign it. Never fails. My mom always said "you came to see me, not my house." So true! xox

7:19 Bingo! Yep, there is a reason poly is so cheap ☠️. Yes, doing a burn test is very important when dealing with fabrics these days. I hate the smell of melting poly plastic. Your cardi looks very nice. I plan on making a duster one of these days. Correct me if I am wrong, but I consider them as cardigans when they are made with knit fabric and dusters when they are made with woven/non-stretch fabric. That's why I said that I am making a duster because I am going to use woven linen fabric. Anyway, your husband has done a wonderful job on the greenhouse.
@FarrellFocusАй бұрын
@@RoseGold... Hello! Yes, that melting plastic is awful! 😮 Duster is what the Harper cardi calls their longest one. It can probably mean other things too. Thanks! I’m in love with the greenhouse! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Hugs 🩵

I think a navy or even eggplant would be a little softer base color on you than the black. The contrast of colors in your knit seems harsh for your skin tones. Since these pieces are going to be your core and worn frequently it's worth taking your time in choose colors that flatter you. The Harper cardigan is a great silhouette for you.
@FarrellFocusАй бұрын
@@marybethpazdernik9672 I love both of those colors! I wish navy was as dependable as black, but it can come in so many slightly different shades. I will still have some for sure!! I’ll have to see if they have this same fabric in those colors, it’s such a perfect weight for so many things! Hugs 🩵

Rather than a dress , you could make a skirt with a basic top. A wide leg pant would work as well. However, it screamed skirt to me.
