You would look fantastic in green too. Apparently that's one of the "fall colors trending." I need to get some patterns out for the whole quiet luxury thing. Can't wait to see that core wardrobe! xoxox

Yes to natural fiber clothing! No, I don't want to leave summer yet, so I won't put fall decor out for awhile! Your little greenhouse is so cute! And I love your patio with the waterfall by it. Thanks for sharing! Hugs!

Love, love, love your core pattern ideas! Thanks to you I have all of the patterns. Since I live up here in Eureka these patterns work for our winter. Since I am now 75, I have the “crepey” arms so I like long sleeves. Also love, love, love, your garden! That greenhouse with the rock garden walls is gorgeous!! Love your show, Jan

I’m just like that. This season I want to stay on course with my plans, instead of jumping around because I saw what someone else was doing. I going to tell myself to stay focused. Your plans are similar to mine, to have core pieces with a splash of color with the tops. I love your style. Your videos inspire me to sew ! 🌸🌸🌸

Hi Stephanie I saw your short and it was a lovely edition. Down under here your video normally pops up on a Saturday afternoon. It's something I look forward to watch on a Saturday afternoon after we've been to our local vege market and have had lunch. I love thar you aren't calling your clothing idea a capsule. Love all the patterns yo

Wow, your husband did a wonderful job on your greenhouse. The brick retaining walls look so nice. I'm glad to hear that you are starting your natural fiber journey😊. Yes, I watch Shorts and I like them.

I've heard of spilling the beans but not spilling the tea - maybe a proper lady heard some hot gossip and was so shocked she spilled her teacup 😄? A core wardrobe is a great idea - a basis to add things to. Your garden is just lovely! No fall decor in my house until October 1st. My garden is still going strong and I have sunflower decor inside right now with brown placemats - fall colors, but no pumpkins yet! I'm still picking tomatoes and green beans. I will wait for fall to enjoy fall - it's still summer. Speaking of "fall," I love the sound of your waterfall. My neighbor calls the Lowe's plant clearance rack the "scratch and dent" rack and we get tons of stuff there. I haven't gotten into watching shorts...yet!

Yes, the weather is really changing here in New England. Although it's beautiful, I just don't like it. I don't like to wear sleeves either. I don't like to wear socks as a matter of fact, but our winters require lots of layers. I really enjoy your Friday chatty videos.

Wow! That is a lot of work (new wall)! Your garden is truly amazing. Great composition made by a photographer’s eye! I’m guilty of not working on the garden. But have put up a few autumn trinkets inside. Like bamboo fabric , too, but weight and thickness are difficult to predict. Thanks for sharing! 😊 Suzanne

I Neeed a new wardrobe. I haven’t had but a few new things in three or four years. Yes, I have my one tote full of fall decorations dispersed around my home…I’m already bored with it. Lol 😆 I don’t decorate for Halloween…just Fall. It’s Fall at my house until the weekend after thanksgiving. Then it’s Christmas until January 1. Then it’s Winter decor until Spring!

I so enjoyed your vlog today. It gives me sort of a “kick n the tush”:to get my act together. I’ve kind of been in a slump and I have so much to do and there it sits. Your garden is amazing. Hubs did a great job on it. Looking forward to getting your updates on that as well. I’d also like to start using more natural fibers for my makes. I did buy some linen and also some rayon linen blends but haven’t sewn them up yet. Yes I watch shorts. Hugs.

Oh but then spring and it will be more beautiful than ever.. The coin purse was on loop while I was doing something last night and probably played at least 100 times. I enjoyed listening to the music too . Tracis Mom gave me one the size of a make up bag .. I use it all the time for my medicine. Much nicer than my plastic ziplock. Thanks Susan !

I love the retaining wall! Great job Hubby. Are the retaining blocks just laid in or did he use concrete also? We need to make a simple retaining wall and I want it super simple and as inexpensive as possible. I love your core wardrobe plans and look forward to seeing what you make. I only sew with natural fabric which is why I don’t sew much with knits. I have been wanting to make more knits and will be interested in where you find fabric.

I love the fabric for that top. It'd go great with an olive skirt or pants, too. And a cardi in the blue, or the lighter green. Did I miss last week? I don't remember anything violet. I'll have to go look and watch it. I did see your coin purse short, and I'll watch any shorts you want to make. That area by your greenhouse is going to be so fabulous when you get it all planted up. I can't wait to see it :)

Fall is my favorite, but my summer window boxes are so abundant that I don't have the heart to change over to mums and pumpkins yet. I am loving my pumpkin spice coffee, and living around the corner from an apple orchard I am ready to roll out those apple pies!

Hi Stephanie! Always fun to listen to you work through your ideas 😁 My first thought when you said you wanted to switch to wear aaaaalll the natural fibers was "you've got such a boatload of polyester knits, which was your absolute favorite thing last year!!" 😆😆 I expect you will always be on the 'knits' train, though, and it looks like you'll be going all New York with the black haha. I've used that New Look pattern with the shirtdress a few times, and probably should make one more of the buttonup since I went to the work of making it fit. The knit dress was horrible around my shoulders, so I'm over it, but it was a St John knit and want to maybe fix the one I made. Oh! and I just finished the book Wild, which was about a woman's journey on the Pacific Crest Trail, which goes through the Sierras. I'm thinking it must go by you on one side or the other. And no, I don't watch shorts. I'm usually doing something with my hands, and it just wastes my time to keep dropping what I'm doing.

I like blends, cotton/linen, viscous/linen, jersey/cotton etc. I do watch reels, if that is the same as shorts???? I don't know.

Great plan. I’d sew a black garment every other time to minimize the boredom and eye fatigue. I’m moving toward natural fibers also. But I don’t like to iron. 🥲
@GoingGreenMom3 ай бұрын
I'm all in on natural fibers too, but can't handle wearing the heavily processed ones like bamboo. 😢 For me it is limited to cotton, linen, blends of the two, and maybe Ill be able to do some wool. But its iffy.

Dont listen to the nasty naysayers against knits. Natural fibers are even more environmentaly dangerous than knots when it comes to chemical compounds, water wasteful resources etc. Stay with what works for your lifestyle. Natural fibers usually means "bring an iron with you" or look for one in the hotel or airbnb. I rarely travel with anything rayon viscose linen or even cotton unless there's spandex or elastain in the mix. What a waste of my time... I say I'm visiting gkids two times zones away for my yearly September "parents excapement for 5 days... Getaway". I only packed one natural fiber top and two pairs of what I call "parachute" cropped cargo. It's such a tight weave and light as a feather. If I fell off the boat into the lake I'd prob float in them.... Fabric....i bought years&years a ago at Costco... One black one hunter green that have gotten into every suitcase I've ever packed. I'm a knit person All the way The trick to matching patterns is stay away from ditsy floral or any floral with more than two colors including black or white. You're pattern is best to not have more than two or 3 at most colors in it. Large or small geometric, random large or small prints. Polka dots, stripes ginghams, plaids etc. The trick is sticking to one at most three of the same colors. Even better with different shades of hues or the same one or two colors on all your seperates. Mix up the scale of the print as well.
