QA has never been a thing, you remember the Demon Hunter release? Pretty much every Demon Hunter card had to be nerfed... When Decent of Dragons preview released with the first "Pure Paladin" cards, the lead-designer said to Trump: "Pure paladin is really good, it has been winning a lot in our practice games." That just shows you the extent of their play-testing, probably make one deck with each archetype of class and play a few games among themselves... The first draft of a deck made by any real competitive player already beats their best deck... When you play HS, you are the play-tester and you do it while paying them for the privilege...

Please. MtG has been involved in card game design for a long time. And yet just a few years ago they put an 2 card infinite combo IN STANDARD, recently designed a keyword mechanic that was so broken they had to redesign it entirely and ban a card before it was even released, and they ban like a dozen cards per year. If MtG can't get card design right with all the experience they have over there... We're lucky our game is digital only so they can at least fix this shit.

Games Workshop (the maker of Warhammer) just throws some rules together and binds it to sell, at least nowadays they bring out regular FAQ's and adjustments to the rules. We used to play Warhammer and if your army was shit then you had to play it for 8-10 years before your army got a new book (if you were really unlucky it would never get one)... But people keep playing and buying so there is no incentive for the game developers to put any effort in balance pre-release, the feedback and data from the players is free to get after all...

@@strikermodel Yeah, but its still slow and there is not enough space for eficient boardclears and heals. It´s a 4 card combo that requires 9 mana (7, or 8 too, but with mana reduction). It can be countered in many ways, specially with RenoLock Tickatus or aggro decks. I think it will be like the OTK Lifesteal combo with Demon Hunter, just a little more consistent maybe, but not meta breaker in some weeks.

Yep, literally half the games I've played yesterday at around 150 Legend were against this deck. Not a single Darkglare Warlock or Raza Priest in sight, all Warlocks and Priests are running this. Warlocks just slot it into their regular Reno or Darkglare shell.

Imo the only unhealthy part about this combo is that it can skip the opponents turn with animations, combo disruption (like dirty rat) or milling should be viable counters, although I haven't played against this deck myself yet so there's that.. Btw malygos druid can combo on turn 4 if they hit the nuts, just saying.

@@torchick163 You're treating it as if Blizzard intentionally created the deck, which they didn't. Wretched Tiller and Deathspeaker have both been such a non-factor for the entirety of their existence that I'm not surprised they overlooked this interaction. And while yes, the combo was discussed before release, that happens every time. People discuss all sorts of ridiculous shit on reddit and elsewhere and the majority of all that prerelease chitchat amounts to nothing but combos that you only try on a low MMR rank floor. The only way to tell whether a combo is a Mark McKz combo or an actual threat to the meta is to see it play out. And since Blizzard didn't see it play out in testing, it's only logical that it's us who ends up finding it it's busted. I'm not concerned about pointing fingers and telling Blizzard how stupid they are for not figuring this out. I'm more concerned about the switness of their response. Cause I sure as shit don't want this to become another 9 months of Naga Sea Witch. Yes, they let that shit exist for NINE MONTHS and I haven't forgiven them for that. So they better react quick.

Mill maybe, although none of the combo pieces are legendary so good luck burning both copies of any. And evasion does not save you from the passive 2 damage every time it attacks a minion.

It really shouldn't kill opponent turn timer, and doing that is a bug. Same as Nozdormu bugs and Ysera portal bugs.

The only way to beat the rope is to disconnect and reconnect to skip the animations. And the disconnect can sometimes boot you from the match so you end up losing even when the game isn't over

@@kenenbaro20 Battlegrounds players use a firewall-based exploit to DC without restarting the client. It's reliable enough to make it worth using every turn as Pirate and Elemental builds for extra time each turn to get more (and faster) scaling. Also, long animation chains are NOT meant to burn the opponent's turn timer. If somthing like Sudderwock or Yogg is going when the fuse explodes (or if an Immortal Prelate dies while it is holding a massive number of duplicated copies of the Paladin legendary reccuring handbuff weapon), the animation completly finishes BEFORE the other player's turn time starts. That is what SHOULD be happening here, and since it isn't, there is a bug here.

Alternate way to get infinite attacks is skipping Deathspeaker and using Wave of Apathy + Pint-Size Potion to reduce enemy minion attack to 0 and kill off your own Shrinkmeister with Holy Smite or Penance. The advantage to that version is that everything but Tiller and Shrinkmeister can get discounted/discovered by Palm Reading.

The only way to beat this deck that I can think of is to get a faster combo deck. Priest has strong anti-aggro so combo that wins before turn 10 is probably the only way to kill it consistently. So Quest Mage is literally a counter to this deck. Secret Mage might also do ok thanks to Ice Block and massive burst.

The best part isn't that this combo is crazy busted. It's that the combo keeps going after killing you, so it forces you/your opponent to sit there for an overly long amount of time. EDIT: after playing wild for about 2 hours today, I exclusively ran into priest players doing this. Not a single warlock.

I was thinking about this and the combo could easely be broken by changing Wretched tiller text so it only tiggers one a turn somehow, i'll let blizzard come up with the exact text but i feel like that would be best.

I think the best way to fix it is to make Hysteria unable to target immune minions. Or just make immune minions untargetable from anything.

Oh so this is why I've been queueing into exclusively priests. I don't play against priests because of big and raza priest primarily since I don't always play decks that even remotely put up with that, but I guess this explains why there's been so bloody many of them.

Any deck that runs card burn or dirty rat. If you delete the cards needed for this combo then there is no combo. Other options are very agressive decks like Kingsbane or Token druid

I crafted a n'zoth mill rogue with rats and evasion, and a mid-range Hunter deck with rats, the scorpion thats plays an opponent minion and atacks it and the dino that atacks what opponent plays + the wild frenzy to get more copies

How can I counter this deck,?legit everyone's been playing this deck all day in wild I've played 5 opponents and 4 of them are using this deck and of course, I've lost 4 games straight away, this deck is so broken. One of my opponents OTK'd me in turn 7, it's so frustrating...
