It didn't say they would take B & B off the air for the new soap. Just change the time B & B is on. Y & R would be first the the new soap and B & B a half hour later. But at this point it is just speculation. The detail about when the new soap will be on or who will be cast has not been released yet.

Back when we had lots of soaps, there was a dedicated soap channel. Then you never had to miss an episode if it was pre-empted. I know we can stream now, but not necessarily soon enough. If more soaps are added instead of replacing others, maybe we'd get the soap channel back.

Perhaps because the "black" characters mainly support story lines. It's been a while since CBS has featured a prominent black family with a patriarch and matriarch; not just "cuzzins"? Y&R has demonstrated it's easier to talk about a Neil character than to cast a new one. I agree, B&B needs improvement and I wouldn't be too upset if it were cut. Just sayin'.

I found an answer to WHY recently B & B was only renewed for 1 year when Y & R was renewed until 2025!. They said B & B was actually renewed for 3 years a while ago so they are just getting through with the 1st year of that 3- year contract.

I can see what is causing, the bold & the beautifuls low rating because if it continues they way it has. Since Quinne, Sheila, Deacon, Zoe, Pamela, Sally & her family left. It has been boring, it's been too exclusively about Lunar, Poppy, R,J, Stephanie & Zende. They don't come up with good story lines for everyone on the cast anymore.The only recent good story was about Eric & his recovery. That's what concerns me about the fate of this show.😢

Hi Belinda: I am excited about the ",Gate". I wish it much success. I think that BB will go. Right now they have only two African Americans on the canvas Zenda and Carter. As another commentor stated the story line with Zenda is horrible. I find it down right egregious. And don't get me started on General Hospital and the treatment of the character of Trina Robinson. I am hoping changes will come for the character with the incoming Head Writer Patrick. Soooo yes to me YR does have the most diverse cast of African Americans. ​@@KurtisWhiteI don't think CBS will continue to play the long game. It's times up.! It's the reason Bold Live explains it to death. 2025 is just that it's a heads up. Bell nds to get it together rapidly. It sinking like the titanic. Sinn is thrown under the bus vis a vis Quarterback. It's making no sense. It's character assasination at it's worst Finn. Bell wants to try Steam for the umpteenth time. It's been done to death. Fope is a deal breaker for most viewers. Li is the only Mom that counts, Sheila is a bio mom. Finn all of a sudden can't shake it off. It's terribly written storylines. It makes no sense. Why would Hope want another man only Loves Steffy? It's Bell grasping anything saying he's going to do a creative masterpiece. It's always the same. I'm hoping the new soap takes great lessons on not losing viewers.

Belinda you are on point about GH! My favorite by far!!! B&B has real issues in its portraits of people of color! Most, tend to disappear down some black hole!

They got rid of the stars that made it interesting. Think, Taylor , Stephanie, Thorne, Macy, Sally sr., Darla, Nick, etc. The characters that made it interesting are all gone. We are stuck with Logans, Ridge, and the cure for insomnia crew.

B&B has had THE LOWEST RATINGS FOR A VERY LONG TIME !!! and it’s because of the Repetitive, boring storylines! The WRITERS. are LAZY! The actors have the SAME Repetitive dialogue from day to day! It’s RIDICULOUS! 🙄

I am curious if production will take place in LA. I know NYC is really expensive and tight on studio space as AMC moved to LA in its final two years to save on filming. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up shooting The Gates in and around Atlanta. Given the premise-the city has a natural backdrop to drawn from for casting, brand new studios and beautiful landscapes for exterior shots and location shooting. Wish U.S. soaps filmed like in the U.K. and incorporate more outside filming.

The Gates will bring me back to CBS. I left CBS after Guiding light was cancelled in 2009. I am currently a Spencer Trina fan ,but Trina has been unfairly put on the back burner at the moment. Keeping an eye out for Patrick Mulcahey as one of the new head writers of GH Bold and the beautiful has always been pretty bad. I watched it since the first episode back in the 80's. CBS could make room. It would be great as a resurgence for network soaps as ABC and NBC only have one surviving soap from their former lineups. This soap is long overdue even after the demise of generations back in the day. Belinda I will be looking forward to your future updates on the Gates in the future when the show is ready to air. I stayed with CBS but my heart was with Guiding Light and As the World Turns and also Another World. I am in love with SPRINA but upset about how Trina is being treated. This Gate soap opera is created just for people of color who are being overlooked and not given major roles. I do hope this new show will put pressure on the other soaps that have not treated black actors as well as white actors. I feel a change is happening and many complaints have been with SPRINA and how they have been treated. Things are getting ready to change.

@@marshagreen9759 I am with you 💯. I find myself watching the show for maybe a few minutes truthfully then turn my attention to something else once I'm home with my kids after work. I have also called into the network as well .. Disappointed to see Tabyanas' scene a few weeks ago was filler. As she was a prop for moral support for Joss before the search for Dex. The Gates is long overdue and I like you am Here for it!!👍 Although I do remember Generations back in the day too , but something seem like the Gates will be a whole new ballgame as the focus will be our culture. Loving it already really. I agree with you that the show will be an eye-opener for the other networks as well . I have to admit though I'm excited for CBS as well for this move.

Y & R runs from 11 to 12 then Judge Judy runs from 12 to 12:30 then B & B runs from 12:30 to 1 then the Talk 1 to 2

CBS finally figured out African Americans and gays are the primary soap fans. I think Bold is moving to Paramount or another streamer. ATWT was warned ratings below 2.1HH meant cancellation. Also, CBS will own this show. Bold is popular globally and will be fine. The Talk isn't strong but cheap to broadcast. LMAD & TPIR aren't going anywhere, and 3-4 pm won't be network ever again. I agree GH gives everyone on its diverse canvas dignity. Ratings should be bigger
