Im currently studying for my CCNA. I goofed around in high school and beyond so my grades arent the best(so no uni options for me), i felt stuck in my current security guard career until i found you david. I hope to get my CCNA at the end of march and im excited for the future now. 👍

@@chibudomeledu1941 sure, i bought davids course on udemy, jeremysitlab on udemy and neil anderssons course. I bought them all on sale on black friday thats why i got all 3. I also use the offical cert guide and boson exsim. Tbh u dont need all that to pass, davids course would be enough.

@@chibudomeledu1941 sure i use davids course (niels and jeremys aswell, bought all on black friday so was cheap , i like all three) on udemy, offical cert guide and boson exsim practice exam. Davids course is the best for really preparing yourself, goes way deeper into subjects even beyond the ccna sometimes and i see that as a massive win

I'm on the CCNA train. 2 months in. It has a lot of info to digest. There are predicted timeframes for each chapter. The first one had 6 hours written on. It took me around 6 weeks of learning 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week. Some chapters can be ver,y very condensed; with a heavy practical side. Practical also including calculating subnets using binary system. Actually, IP addressing has been the hardest and most voluminous till now. There are many numbers and algorhytms to keep in mind. Had I been 20, this would go way faster but still not easy peasy. Regarding the price, it was published as 800 USD. When paying, you fill in the country of your residence and they bonus the price with the VAT. So, in the end, I paid 952 USD for the course (Romanian citizen). The exam is another few hundreds. I really do hope there will be a return on investment in at most 3 years. Regardless the outcome, if I don't try this, I'll remain at the very few low hanging fruits of IT repair and SMB sysadmin territory. Which sucks a lot. PS: what you can be sure is that you'll end the course way smarter than before.

I have earned the CCNA certification along with a B.A., yet I haven't seen any tangible improvements. I initially believed these credentials would be valuable investments, but now I feel they may have been a waste of money.

If you really want to learn something, go for it, but from a career perspective, it requires an experience . You can get an experience while learning. Do labs from easy to though one as much as you can, and you will gain a significant amount of knowledge within a year.

Certifications have become a racket. They cover too much proprietary nonsense and not much fundamentals. Also there is certification inflation. Everyone has them. They are a waste of individual attention and money.
@rakeshcristobal83208 ай бұрын
Some certs cover really good fundamentals, and not much proprietary stuff like the CynerOps Associate. But in general I agree. A lot of Indians have fake certs, either bought or acquired through dumps. We interviewed one such candidate, a CCNP, and he couldn't answer simple questions about ARP.
@blackdonte248 ай бұрын
@@rakeshcristobal8320 Shouldn't matter if they have fake certs if you interview them correctly.

They've always covered proprietary nonsense. And how are they a waste of money when most roles require them? You sound like sour grapes dude.

@@blackdonte24 The ‘opportunity cost’ or each person’s attention is different. For my life, preparing for them and paying for them is too costly to justify.
