I love both shades on you. There’s always a natural glow when going one shade deeper. It just brings so much richness to the appearance of the skin and looks great in pictures!

Wow, the difference in shade intensity between 13 and 14 is stark. I wear 12.5 (winter)& 14W (summer) in the Flawless Foundation and these shades in the new foundation seem a bit off. I hate how the deeper shades are mostly cool or neutral, which doesn’t consider that deeper tones can also be warm, just deeper. They still don’t get it. Love the wear tests, very helpful!!

Plus you’re gorgeous and a similar shade to me 🤗 Sorry back to the video, I think the 13W actually washes you out a little and the concealer doesn’t give you that nice contrast as on the 14N side. But there should deffo be a shade in between, like a golden one.

@@Slappldn well I have the Flawless foundation in 9 Cool so the site says I should be 9N; however when I do a shade match with picture or models on the site it points to 10W. I will have to test in store. Thanks for asking. I am really looking forward to reviewing this one on my channel as the last foundation I never used as it always ended up cakey at the end of the day. I am still holding a grudge😂. The color corrector also was a fail…. Lol

Thanks for the review. Really helpful in confirming for me that CT base products remain hard pass, do not buys! Both shades just weren’t right, massive jump and were too obvious; especially when applying anything more than the thinnest layer. And I’m sure you can get that finish from other - better shade range - brands

It’s the hardest of hard passes for me, I don’t like the shades at all😂. 14 was too dark and 13 too yellow, though the shade was ok. The only reason it even looked a little ok is because you applied such a light layer that the shade didn’t even matter. I think LE and PM both have similar coverage but much better shade ranges.

14 is the right undertone but too dark and 13 is the right depth but wrong undertone. I think mixing will be you solution but gone are the days of buying 2 foundations to make it work!

Have you also tried the 12n or even 11n ? Maybe you’re less yellow than you think. The website tends to match a shade darker I think. I was matched 11n there but in store it was too dark and then got matched 10n. The continuity of the shades are within the the same ranges of undertones and not by solely going by numbers. So it makes sense that the 13w appears very different from 14n. But it is true that they should probably’ come with some warmer shades after 13… I think that teaches people to stop going by richer/darker when approaching a skin tone and more by undertones. The richer darker approach tends to confuse people and does not makes sense to many. Look at fenty shades, the neutral shades 360 350 are placed before a warm shade 370 that some would believe is lighter… So it is extremely confusing trying to find ones shades if ones does know their undertones… The artist Angelica Dass did a great work trying to show how human skin shades are within such wide spectrums that it is hard to hierarchised and when we do it comes with a lot of prejudices that are not solely based on the shade we see. No wonder it is that hard to get correctly matched…

Here is the problem with CT... She may expand and make deeper shades but they aren't useful or it is too big of a jump. 13 to 14 could do with at least 2 shades in between, at least undertone wise. Shade 3 of her bronzer too neutral and shade 4 is more or a contour for me. Her airbrush powder in shades 3 and 4 are so damn cool it is ridiculous. Her foundations are limited in the darker shades. She has 2 blushes that barely work on deeper skin. And that face palette was comical (it should have been dragged like the hourglass palette.) I do have a lot of CT in my kit but to be frank, I only pull it out for my lighter clients because the brand just isn't built for deeper skin tones in mind.

Yes totally agree, there are definitely a lot of missing shades on the deeper end of the spectrum. Using more of her products again, I realised I liked so many of them which makes it so much more disappointing that her brand isn’t always considerate when it comes to richer tones. The foundation definitely needed more warm/golden shades and definitely a 14W and 15W. I think with her HFF she showed she could get the tone right with 6.5 so I’m not sure why this wasn’t used as a foundation. ☺️💕

Agreed! I love the pressed powder formula, but the darkest shade I can only use under my eyes in the summer. I was kinda disappointed when they just added a Tan shade. There needs to be two more darker shades for the pressed powder🤷🏾‍♀️

Why not a 10-12 n I was confused with her shades too. They had her rep in Sephora & they matched me to 7.5, i was going with 9n. The formula does warm up really well to the skin. It seems to work blending center of face outwards. I think we should play with the entire line to find the right undertone level & stop thinking in terms of light to rich🤷🏽‍♀️

I totally agree. I was match 10n and 9n in winter at their store when I wanted to go for the 12w -13w and it was the first time I was match that well. It is the first time a foundation looks like my skin but better. Other foundations were just a bit off on me in terms of undertones. I actually learned that I am more on a neutral sides thanks to CT. I used to naturally gravitate towards yellow foundation shades when I am more beige/olive and those undertones are rarely found for tan and deeper skin tones or maybe it is that salespersons at the counters of those brands can’t match dark skin really well and just assume they’ll have yellow undertones…

Thanks for the review. You are so consistent in showing shades and comparing to others in your collection. I think mixing would be best. I don't know why companies don't offer samples of the various colors, like Lisa Aldridge did. Especially for you all that can't return makeup outside of the US. I can't imagine buying something that don't work and then being stuck with it. I will wait on the new NARS foundation. I KNOW they will get the shades and undertones right!

Really nice finish but neither shade is an exact match. It seems like a pretty big jump between 13 and 14. Of the two, I think 13 works better. I'll have to see if I can find a shade that works for me.

People love pushing women towards shades that is obviously too dark for them.13W is DEFINITELY your skin tone lol. Melts with your cheeks. I do wonder what a 14W looks like. You're not neutral so while 14N doesnt look bad its not your shade, too rich. maybe as a summer vacation since you guys cant return cosmetics. Im amazed at different 14N in the airbrush foundation looks compared to this one tho. Crazy.

I think it really depends on the primer. It may be a little too glowy, so perhaps something like the Lisa might be better ☺️💕

Charlotte can keep her garbage shade range 😂 I was not excited about this launch at all. The shades for the deeper range are trash. There are at least a good 3 or 4 shades that could be added. Per usual there are weird large gaps with the deep shades. But CT has always had junk shade ranges including her HFF (large gaps for the deep range as well), so really I’m not surprised that this isn’t any different. Just because it’s 30 shades or whatever doesn’t mean it’s evenly distributed. Super easy pass. I’ll wait for the Nars Light Reflecting foundation. But on a more positive note! I think mixing the two would be ideal for you! You could fiddle around with the proportions of the 13 and 14 and find a decent match for yourself. Tho I think you could make both work. It looks pretty on your skin as well.

13 is too light for you. It is too golden/yellow for your undertone and just sits on top of your skin. 14 is much better. Neither are meant for the hand or the wrist as we know…

14 is way too rich for her. she's had to very little to make it look the way it does and she's not neutral. 13 melted into her cheeks and all.

Thank you! Yes looking back the 13 does look a bit on the light side. I think probably more so when I layered it up. With a lighter layer it sat much better, but I think I will have to mix both shades, which is definitely not ideal! Or what I would have hoped for! ☺️💕

Harsh CT opinion incoming :-). Charlotte Tilbury has been off my radar for years, and I have no plans to try her brand again. Products are really poor quality and I don't like the aesthetic. Very Instagaram makeup vibe IMO. And I really find her packaging to be tacky. I think her popularity is due to name recognition.

Charlotte Tilbury needs to come better than this, period! Her face palette was annoyance to me like her holiday palettes, it’s tailored to specific skin tones . Somebody need to tell Charlotte we are in 2022 and she needs to stop her tomfoolery. I like what I have from her but she is not that inclusive. The 13 looks better I guess.
