At some the search product has to be an actual business. Your beloved Google search product is paid for by those advertisers, who by the way lose if they don’t serve you relevant results to your search queries. It’s not a bad thing that Google Search is paid for. It’s a self-correcting feature.

Okay, just had a play with this new tool and I found it somewhat lacking. It makes the same error repeatedly when I ask you to look up the specifications for the new M4 series MacBook pros. It appears to be looking at the M3 generation even though I asked it to correct the information given four times it on five occasions gave me the same wrong information by way of specification in particular the memory bandwidth figures are all wrong. I guess it will improve with time but at the moment this is just not a tool that one can rely upon, I think Perplexity might be better than this, although I would need to test more extensively to form an opinion.

You're right, it's for ChatGPT 5. The versions being released are for mass testing. GPT 5 will likely have versions with increasing intermittent abilities to publicly introduce AGI to the world.

The thing is: The smarter the models get, instead of trying to dumb down your Prompts try the opposite. For example do one for search. For example you can tell it to give you the search results as textual table and compare. And so on...

It's needs refinement. It's better than googling but not as good as perplexity. Reordering information and poorly summarizing it is not that great. It's better but needs refinement for knowledge based information. Looking up restaurants and weather stuff like that it's good but tbh Google is still good for that anyway.

I just tried it and it's pretty darn good. AI related tech is advancing at lightspeed. Meta will be entering the game pretty soon as well and they have deep pockets. This all makes me a bit worried about the future of Google Search. Never underestimate Google though. I expect them to make power moves in the near future. Nah. This is a step backwards. Searching on the web doesn't get you the right answer but spoon feeds you info driven by paid advertisers, often biased, leaning towards results endorsed by an outspoken minority.
