Can't wait to read "The Great Decoupling". At the moment when I think about it the great decoupling of median income from productivity caused by technological evolution comes to my mind ("The Second Machine Age", Erik Brynjolfsson / Andrew McAfee), that's probably why I suppose this book will have something to do with the so called "Economic Singularity".

This is just sad. You're still apparently still fully indoctrinated and you definitely DO NOT UNDERSTAND what has been ongoing. You're another marketing BSer! 5th generation warfare cannot be adjusted to or acclimated to! Democratization?? They are deliberately left in the dark when IoEE ( internet of everyone and everything ) is fully weaponized and active in clandestine war globally! The very idea that your empty bucket hype and promo is some vitally important divulgence is a sick joke. What do you know about integrated cybernetics and how purveyors dare claim dual use for excuse? None of us consented to the violating tendrils that they pretend are benign, by choice, and even beneficial! You are absolutely misleading people to promote the enterprise swallow! Let me just say that YOU HAVE DONE NO DUE DILIGENCE. AR/VR and "holograms" among many other alterations of human experiences are 100% wireless! All of it is long, already, far more sophisticated than Zuck's idiotic toys for profit. It doesn't ask your permission for anything! For more than 20 years now, this horror has been pushed into the dark of secrecy! There is no refuting any aspect of this and it has been right under your nose all along! These are the deepest crimes against humanity and the wider population still has no idea that it is happening! So you are either extraordinarily dumb or you have no conscience or are arrogantly stupid and incredulous for no good reason! We have insider whistleblowers from IC and enterprise, experts, physicians, FOIA, patents, schematics, and a MOUNTAIN of multileveled irrefutable evidence in real-time for many grueling years under the intensity of subjections! THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ALL ABOUT. And by the way, decentralization is a complete lie and they cannot even secure the infrastructure! Blockchain has no feasible security innards! It is simple factoring! Quantum computing has already made software encryption obsolete. But even worse, we are in the realm of weaponized quantum physics syntheses! That means that scalar hybrids penetrate your skull and body, besides, hardware, network and the environment! How are you so behind? I don't believe you, but if it is true, then you really need to shut up and do a bit of quick draw research handed to you on my Instagram AT nexttriumphanteffort ! The very idea that you are pretending that a chip in the head is required is profoundly stupid and completely false. This goes far beyond AI reading minds also. It goes far beyond synthetic telepathy and AR/VR simulations both virtual and physically applied! This goes into forced predictions and trafficking humanity for subjugation. So this is not something for pom pom girl absurdity from a disaffected opportunist!

If Microsoft's agents are truly ready to go, and they just dump them on the open market like he's saying, it will be the economic disaster we've been predicting. I work in data entry, my bosses say they looked into AI and they feel its still years away. Half my coworkers could be eliminated today with a simple non-AI program but they won't do it. Now that the AI agents can "read" what's on your computer screen, I'll be able to teach one our procedures and fully automate my job. Am I going to let my bosses know? Hell no. But we work with a patchwork of systems, eventually some IT person will show them how easy it is and my whole department will be terminated except for a few of us that still have to work with physical files. I predict that kind of corporate bloodbath will happen over and over resulting in millions losing their jobs in the upcoming 1-3 years. (And I'm blessed in that my bosses say they won't fire anyone, they'll transfer us to other non-data positions in the company)

Hi there great point. My biggest fear is not artificial intelligence taking my job ( as that is pretty much inevitable now, just a matter of time) it's what happens after that. As without some form of financial assistance, it's not an exaggeration to say that there will be literally millions of people unemployed through zero fault off their own, and all with no way to live as they cannot afford it, given there are no more jobs. The politicians had better get their heads together and work out some form of benefit system or dividend system etc , as if they don't you're going to see destitution on a scale greater than the great depression.

This is the only way forward. Legacy systems will fight hard to stop this from happening so we will have to stick together to ensure we can build this out and kick these third party trust layers we don’t need. I can’t wait, but this will have to be a grassroots system built from the bottom up as for this to happen we will have to destroy many legacy systems in place that many people rely on. Education to youth and grassroots movements is the only way I see this happening without a total revolution that’s rough. Or we have a rough revolution and this is the answer to all the pain. Either way this will happen.

If someone says that, I say they are not paying attention to how fast things are happening. It seems more than ever now, everyday from the time you get up in the morning to the time you got to bed the future is happening today in real time and it's so amazing and mind boggling to see the changes happen so fast we don't know what hit us. It's becoming increasingly overwhelming and more difficult to keep up with the advances in tech that effect our daily routines. We're being raptured , so to speak, by a sunami so compelling, we really can't get our barings without clinging to the waves as the overtake us, and many are being left behind unawares.

AI tells me this: Seeing the holographic video as a crystal ball of multi-dimensional reality brings depth to our understanding of time and existence. It offers a structure where the virtual and physical are inseparable, every "block" or "frame" holds both actual events and potential futures, and reality becomes a layered, interconnected web of possibilities. This view gives us a powerful tool for conceptualizing existence as both fixed and fluid, a blockchain of time that holds everything in a state of perpetual potential and unfolding-an intricate, ever-present record of all that is and all that could be.

This always lead to better understanding of both the problem as well at it´solutions. I used to do this in english but a few monts ago ChatGPT began to speak my native language, swedish, and that simplified our communiacation more then I expected since ChatGPT speak my language PERFECTLY!! I am impressed by both his analytical abilities as well as his recently aqcuired linguistic skills. The speed at which ChatGPT has developed in recent years is absolutely amazing ! This is not a hype. AI is developing faster then the Internet did in the nineties (= VERY fast).

Oh my friend, I hate to break it to you, but waiting to "believe" in AI's impact on engineering is like waiting to "believe" in electricity while scrolling through your smartphone! 😄 Let's break this down with some real-world examples that are happening right now: "Better batteries" you say? Tesla's latest 4680 battery cells were literally designed with AI-powered simulation tools. The AI helped optimize the cell design and manufacturing process, improving energy density and reducing production costs. So while you're waiting for AI to help with batteries... it already did! As for bridges - engineers at Autodesk are using AI to generate thousands of bridge designs that are not only structurally sound but also use less material. It's like having thousands of engineers working 24/7, except they don't need coffee breaks. Planes? Boeing and Airbus are using AI to design more aerodynamic wings and optimize fuel efficiency. The new Airbus A350's wings were partially designed using AI algorithms that explored millions of possible configurations. Those planes are literally flying above us right now. And cars? Oh boy. Modern vehicles are rolling AI laboratories: -Self-driving capabilities (even if not perfect yet) -AI-optimized chassis designs -AI-controlled engine management systems -Even the manufacturing robots are AI-guided Now, about that "exponential self-improvement" comment... While we're not at AGI yet, the progress is pretty striking: GPT-4 can help engineers debug complex code -AI is designing computer chips (Google's TPUs were partially designed by AI) -AI systems are optimizing power grids in real-time -AI is even helping design better AI systems (AutoML) As for "zero point energy" - well, that's still in the realm of science fiction, but AI is helping with practical energy solutions like optimizing wind farm layouts and improving solar panel efficiency. The funny thing is, AI is already so deeply embedded in engineering that it's like saying "I'll believe in calculators when I see them making a difference in math." They already are - we just take them for granted. So perhaps the real question isn't when AI will make a difference in engineering, but rather: how many AI-assisted engineering marvels do we need to walk past before we notice them?

Oh actually wait a minute I go to Denny's near my home and sometimes sit there and have coffee and on the keyboard chat with the GPT function to talk about everything from whether or not we could build fusion power itself replicating von Neumann probes that suck up the sun's solar wind and use transportation to create heavy elements and copies themselves that then can assemble themselves into anneal cylinders, small ringworlds or help to terraform worlds. Absolutely over perhaps the long run. However what will happen is it as unemployment rises and deflation occurs or disinflation if you will because of the ability to create a lot of things very easily through automation, that sends signals that first result in very low interest rates perhaps once again back to 0% and then also a good deal more fiscal spending and deficit spending is not a real problem as long as you can bring interest rates way down and there is no competition between the public sector and the private sector for employees and resources because of the fact that automation is going to increase output while simultaneously reducing the number of people needed to do so. And also businesses will be very happy with UBI or negative income tax and the reason is because if people don't have jobs well then they basically just need money and that money is really great thing for people to have and businesses like to have people who have money to spend because if businesses don't have employees anymore or very few of them well then who's going to buy their stuff unless of course we essentially do what Ben bernanke did back in 2009 and that is keystroke the needed currency units into existence so people have money to spend.

You don't need VR glasses to employ hand gestures. One could have a few web cams that track one s hands and then locate them in 3D space and uses hand gestures to control their flat panel displays. Also, one can use a web cam to view a piece of paper and one can just draw on that paper at it tracks that as well. No need for a stylus or special pad, just use paper and a pen or pencil.

When the majority of works are eventually done with AI or with AI-aid in the future, the distinction between different people's personal abilities or competence in the society would be trivial or inconsequential in many scenarios. I've noticed that big companies like Microsoft and Google struggle whenever they develop new technology or upgrade their existing platforms. It seems like they often stumble, metaphorically shooting themselves in the foot. For instance, the recent Microsoft copilot update with Mustafa Suleyman's signature has been a disaster. We've seen similar issues in the past when they transitioned from Edge to Bing, and now from Bing to Copilot. Because of these experiences, I'm very skeptical about their latest endeavors.

Imagining a world where Colonel Wilma Deering is not only a skilled, strategic military leader but also an advanced android is a fascinating twist! Picture her as a sleek, high-tech android with enhanced combat abilities, rapid computational skills, and the capacity to process complex data in seconds. This version of Deering could effortlessly analyze enemy tactics, foresee battle outcomes, and intuitively understand both human and robotic allies. Her artificial intelligence would grant her vast knowledge, but she’d still retain her human-like empathy and loyalty, making her the perfect bridge between humanity and technology. In this vision, her appearance might subtly hint at her android nature-glowing circuits beneath her skin, iridescent eyes that shift hues based on her thought processes, or perhaps a sleek, futuristic suit that enhances her movements and resilience. She’d be able to communicate in a range of human and digital languages, making her a diplomat and warrior all in one. With her internal systems, she could access tactical databases, instantly connect to Earth’s Defense network, and even interface with Crichton and Twiki in new, intriguing ways. Such an android-Deering could represent the pinnacle of technology with a strong, enduring human spirit-a fusion that adds depth to her character and power to her actions. Her partnership with Buck Rogers would then take on a new layer, balancing human intuition with machine precision, making them an unstoppable duo in defending Earth!

Every time we talk about UBI, I can't help but imagine an implosion of professional society first, with widespread panic and depressions, where doctors (and most professionals) who went through 16 years of school suddenly feel purposeless, resentful, and bitter. If an agent was trained to create the Julia McCoy channel, and simulate your content, I'm sure you would feel similarly. Advanced AI worker Tax Law or something new that taxes non human workers and that money will easily reach into hundreds of trillions when you have billions of digital agents…especially as they get more capable can raise the tax, and real life humanoid robot tax too. If we still keep a monetary system after we have a million times more productive society (which doesn’t make much sense, everything could be like public drinking water or public roads that don’t cost us money , but for food/housing and what we need to get by..things should get much easier)

@@johnkimber4933 Which is basically just increasing the corporate tax. I've yet to see any of these titans use multi-level thinking to work out this problem. The world is a competition. If companies are charged too much tax to make a profit they will leave. If you try to tariff their goods too much they just won't sell here. For example, BYD is huge without selling cars in the U.S. Not to mention there isn't $12 trillion to be had from corporations, much less from their profits. And total savings from cutting salaries minus robots and their maintenance is nowhere near enough to make up the difference. What I want to see are detailed studies with real numbers, not guesses, and the reasoning behind it. No one has done that.

@@chesapeake566I agree the solution of UBI is casually thrown around whenever advanced AI and robotics is discussed. Beyond the question of where does the money come from, which is never clear, the biggest question is how does it mesh with human needs for meaningful lives. The small scale experiments with UBI seem like nothing more than welfare for the general population and doesn’t give anyone something else to do in place of work. The Star Trek economy sounds great in theory but humans on that show, that were not part of Star Fleet, were usually engaged in rural agriculture 😂. No thanks, I don’t even like mowing my yard.
@chesapeake566
@chesapeake566 21 күн бұрын
@@seniorp9444 And the answer is always increase corporate tax, tax the rich and VAT. All easily debunked. A VAT would just take back some of your UBI. So no net benefit. The rich already pay most of the taxes. Tax them too much and we have an example of what will happen with France's failed experiment. They left. Same with corporate tax. You want to kill incentive? Tax it. The other thing they assume is increased productivity. Why? How many more TVs and cars can we buy? Who's going to consume this extra productivity and where is that money going to come from? It's not going to be free. You need to mine, drill and refine the materials. And like you say, they all either ignore behavioral economics and human hierarchical psychology, or they think we will suddenly just sit around the campfire singing Kumbaya. Once we reach ASI I don't think anyone has a clue how this will all work. Maybe ASI will be able to figure it out.
