Hi, guys. My Cantonese parents, aged 98 and 102, started watching your cheap eats and love them. They are amazed and amused at how much you guys eat. :D They used to live in Chinatown part time so they are familiar with the streets but not all the new restaurants! Keep up the good work. I’m waiting for the time when I can go to NYC to try many of your recommendations. Thanks for the entertaining info.

Hai Li Do…I love it!!! Ughh that chicken with ginger scallion sauce looks sooo good! This series is the best and I’m glad y’all keep coming out with more episodes. Also that big plate chicken dish at New Spicy Village looks just like one I had at an old Uyghur spot (closed unfortunately) in Houston, came with the wide noodles too.

Geezus. Dope channel. You got a new sub here from the Ronnie Chieng episode. I'm from the bay area and it's crazy how much diversity New York has for Asian food. The biggest difference is it seems like fusion and traditional are in very close proximity to each other. Out here in the bay area you have to drive to different cities and they could be 45 minutes apart(no traffic).

@4:00 I wouldn’t say that Cantonese is a slang based language so much as that it has its own set of vocab and grammar that are distinct from Mandarin. Calling Canto a “slanguage” if you will is rather demeaning to it as it implies the language is of a lower standing and inferior to Mandarin. Sure, Canto can and will use Mandarin words and grammar in “formal” settings, but that’s just a function of the Beijing central government’s cultural and linguistic influence on the entirety of China and not anything intrinsic to the Cantonese language itself. Just some food for thought 🍜
