I absolutely love this. I am struggling this year with the holidays coming up. I lost my brother in April and he absolutely loved Christmas. It's gonna be hard without him here. But I remind myself that he wouldn't want me to be sad and would want me to decorate and celebrate. Especially for his two daughters. I needed this today. Going through a very tough time financially & funding life hard & this really cheered me up. My xmas decor is all 24 years old but its still makes the season feel special. I got it all when i first became a Mum & lots of it has broken over the years but im still grateful to have any at all. Theres always people who have less & so its important to count our blessings x

I love Christmas and the music in this video made me love it even more. I still put out some decorations my son made when he was 7 (he's now 41) and I smile every year I see them. It's the homemade decorations that mean the most to me. The gifts I've gotten over the years have special meanings and I have notes on each one indicating who gave me the gift and the thought I had when I opened it. Watching you decorate makes me smile and I so miss the old days when we had more family around to celebrate the holidays. What I like most about your videos is your calming voice and how you all show care in how you clean & decorate-intentional but humble. Idk exactly how to describe it for you to understand 🤪. This year has been all about celebrating me. While I still grieve I am young and l choose to live. Extra money would help me create a new Christmas in my new home for the new me.

I love how simple you’ve kept it, but it still looks really festive and cosy. I also like to have a tidy clean slate before I start to decorate for Christmas. There’s nothing better than getting the Christmas boxes down from the loft and opening up the boxes and coming across decorations you’d forgotten about. In the UK most people don’t decorate until early December but I’ve already planned my decorating for the last week tin November.

I love the look of the more subtle and simple decor. I have taken down my pictures for years and I wrap them up like Christmas gifts with bows and ribbons. It's such a simple thing to do but it has a big impact!

I'm always so inspired by your Christmas decorating videos. I struggle with decorating. One thing I've finally started doing is putting everything out in one place. Before I would just bring in a tub or two, use things in them, and then bring in more tubs. I would find some things when I opened the later tubs that I really wanted to use. This made me go back and redecorate areas. Doubled my time. Now I get everything out at once and I feel better. I've been watching you about 3 years; and now at 76, I enjoy my house more. Thank you!

Love to see your excitement and creativity! This year I definitely needed some cheering up to get in the spirit. These past several months have been super hard on our family. My brother was diagnosed with a very large brain tumor this summer. He’s gone through multiple brain surgeries and fought through many complications. He still has a long journey ahead of him, but he is so strong and will get through this. Sending prayers to anyone going through a difficult time this holiday season! My nativity was given to my father in 1972, when I was born. He died nearly twenty years ago now and His nativity is THE most favorite place I love to put out every year. My son his namesake really enjoys it also and has requested that he inherit his grandfather’s nativity. That warms my heart that he wants to carry on having this piece in his home.

Hi Amanda. This was such a great start to kick off the upcoming holidays! Christmas is my favorite. I would say share the declutter first and then lead up to the rest. I have a regular sofa but I'm swapping for a sectional which is a long time coming. It will seat more, look better and feel more like our vibe. My boyfriend and I love to cuddle on the couch and share quality time staying in with dinner and a movie. The sectional will just complete the space. I like to switch things around. I've also shared where $ was tight many years ago and I don't take for granted what I have/can provide now but it's been a tough year of unexpected finances. This year will be the 1st in many that I will buy a simple fake tree vs a real one. I will buy the Scenticles to give my tree that real tree smell. This is the year of budgeting and spending smarter will keep me grounded, at peace and ahead. Love what you decorated so far. The artwork looks so cool. TFS 🫶🏽 🎄🎅🏽

I love your taste and your beautiful home. You keep it livable for a young family. It is not over done. I like your couches and the fact that they are different. I liked your message about young women just starting off seeing all the videos and having sadness that they cannot achieve the same sorts of designer looks early in their marriages. We have been married 55 1/2 years and have accumulated our decor and traditional vibe over that time. I mostly stick to red and green and gold and add a few new things every year to keep it interesting. I love it that your husband is involved in the decor and you are thinking of what your children would enjoy.

I have a nativity scene that is made in Germany. It looks like a stable with freestanding characters and the special thing about it is that it is a music box. You wind it from the back. My daughter got it for me when she was in high school. She is in her fifties so that is how long I have had it. It is really special.

This year I have finished a lot of Christmas cleaning already and now I have started decorating. I am so glad that I did because my husband returned from his overseas trip and is in hospital with an unplanned surgery and another surgery in the near future. He was supposed to come home and help me during my planned and unwanted medical procedures. So unwell at the moment but despite everything I love, love Christmas and I am hoping to finish everything by the 1st Dec when we all get together to decorate the tree. Fingers crossed that I manage it all. My children have bought me the same nativity set as yours a few years ago and since have added to the set. Here in Australia it's Summer but I still like to create a cosy atmosphere with my Christmas decorating.

I love the way you decorate for Christmas. The hot cocoa bar is a great idea as always. I am allergic to pine so I have a small artificial tree. I won’t do much in the way of decorating because I have no shelves or other places to put much. But I do have a tree & on the outside of my apartment door I put a wreath & a sign that says “Jesus is the reason for this glorious season.” I love way you put the greenery up above the cabinets in the kitchen.

In the 70s when we married Avon had an all white nativity set … it started with a small set BUT they added to the set a piece or two every year … mine takes up a whole tote .. have the original boxes ( just cause they are safe in them ) and each of my children have the basics in their own home .. very special ! It was so good seeing you, ive missed a few videos and i was late watching this one. I did see the decluttering video and I told myself start in one room at a time so thats just what im doing. Dont know if i'll be doing much christmas decorating this year I'm really missing my husband its only been 3 months sense his passing. The cat getting into the tree was cute I've got 3 cats. I really love your 2 couches and your chairs! I wouldn’t change anything about it! I just got rid of our very loved too much for our room sectional and I don’t regret it one bit! My family room feels like it can breathe now and I love that I’m not committed to one room design now! I can rearrange my family room and make it feel and look like a completely different and new room without spending a dime! I also can easily move my furniture to vacuum and mop the floors under the couches, which I couldn’t do with my sectional. If you do end up going with a sectional I would highly suggest to get one that can be rearranged from side to side/ switchable!! Thank you for your content you put out for us that desperately need it like I do!! It’s appreciated ❤

I love how you decorated for Christmas. Very cozy and tastefull and not overdone. Love the Willow Tree Nativity. Gave a set to my son and Daughter-in-law. Added a few pieces every year. I love the black houses you put on the shelves as well. The new arrangement of the furniture is perfect.

Yes! Covering art that’s not in a winter or Christmas theme is a must. There’s some really nice winter and Christmas prints out there too if the budget allows. What a difference that made to the space 👍.

Our family room is too small to have a big couch so a few yrs ago we went and bought a left and a right hand sectional chaise. I have a table between them. I wish we had room to move things around but there is really only one way to place them. Growing up my parents had one of those silver tree's with the 3 color spot light. It didn't have any ornaments hanging on it, dad would hang a ribbon from the corners crossing in the middle of the room they would be tacked to the ceiling. Mom would hang all the ornaments from this ribbon. It kept my little brothers hands off the delicate ornaments. When my mom passed I received all of them and started to do the same thing to keep my cats away. I don't put up a big tree because I have a climber so instead my wonderful hubby bought me 3 beautiful ceramic tree's that sit out all year I just light them starting on December 7th until January 7th. I decorate on December 7th mainly in my front room/dining room/parlor.

I love the simplicity! I have so many decorations from all the years & it gets so cluttered trying to display it all! I really need to purge, but it’s hard as most of the decorations elicit such wonderful memories of our younger family! Thinking I’ll simplify this year and maybe add a cocoa bar as well. I’m sure the grandchildren will love that!

I love your suggestion to clean then decorate. You are SO smart! It really does help so much to keep the overwhelming disorganization at a minimum!! Time goes so quickly and you realize it later. This is my last year with my daughters home. My youngest is in college and getting an apartment next year. Our oldest has began her career earlier this year and she’s moving to an apartment in January. I know it’s time and exciting for them, but my Mama heart hurts!!

Light the tapered candles ay least once so the wick lookes used. Just blow it out after a couple of minutes. That way you dont lose the lovely shape but they look like they've been used with looks cozier. My mom is an interior designer and taught me that trick 😊

I use to wish for the same things (a beautiful festive home with all the pretty decor) and yes, after years and years, my decor collection has finally grown into something I’m extremely happy with. I don’t go overboard yet I try to add a few key pieces each year (and I’ll donate a few older pieces) this year, I need a new Christmas tree, so seeing that you had the same issues, makes me feel a bit more “normal” everything you did is beautiful and I LOVE your nativity set!! I would cry too, if my hubby gifted that to me!! (I have a very old one from a thrift store) but one day I’ll get a better one. God bless you and your family!! ❤❤

I absolutely love your nativity set! So sweet of him to surprise you with it! I use taper candles for decoration only, with kids and a cat I’m scared to light them! I’m so ready for Christmas decorating! Definitely getting me in the mood ❤ 🎄❄️ We get a real tree every year, I LOVE it, but I use my old tree in our bedroom. So I end up putting up 4 trees (2 small kid trees in their bedroom) 1 in our master, and 1 real tree in our living area. Our favorite holiday is Christmas so we try to do as much as we possibly can for the kids.
