This was everything I didn't know I needed this year. I am a stay at home mom of three kids and the holidays have become so overwhelming with the pressure to make each Christmas bigger and better than the last. But watching this something just clicked. I don't need all of the crafts and gifts and events. I simply need to slow down and just be present. Romanticize the little things and realize how beautiful every day things are. I know that might be a weird thing to get out of this video but oh well. I'm just sitting here quietly crying at the weight this pulled off of my shoulders. That's not silly at all. I'm a stay at home mom this year with three little boys. First I thought that I had to go all out because I'm off work this year. Then, I thought about what they loved most. My five year old loves decorating the tree and he wants to dress up for our annual Mummers parade (it's a Christmas tradition where I live in Canada). My three year old wants to make homemade Christmas donuts and can't wait to hang his stocking. My one year old loves to play with our Little People Nativity. What they love is the small things. They just want us to spend time with them and everything else is a bonus. Sending lots of love to wherever you are kindred spirit! And thanks for the beautiful videos Desi! Happy holidays :)

I've begun covering my books with paper bags like my grandmother used to do. Her house always looks so lovely. She would calligraphy the name of the book on each one and when she was bored she would doodle on the cover while she was reading it. I still have a few of her books with those covers. This video is so wonderful and cozy! It's such a nice start to the winter season! I did want to mention that OCD is not a love of organizing or needing things a certain way (though that can definitely be a form of OCD if not having things a certain way leads to severe anxiety). As a person with OCD, I experience persistent intrusive thoughts and urges that I feel the need to alleviate through compulsions. Unfortunately, OCD has been adopted in popular vernacular to mean a person who is particular, but that's not the reality of it. I hope this doesn't offend you or other viewers, I just wanted to take this moment to gently educate about this mental illness. Thank you for the wonderful videos, and I hope you feel better soon!

It has been too long! I am still dealing with long covid after getting sick this past January. Right after Halloween I experienced a really bad flare up and have been trying to work my way out of it ever since. I’ve missed being able to work at my normal pace with regular energy. I work in a small independent bookshop in Germany and while December is our busiest month, it is also lovely to work during this time of year ♥️ - to give recommendations to customers looking for something for their loved ones 🧸 and wrap them as presents, the whole team wearing Christmas sweaters and sometimes customers are playing on our piano (it’s open to all)… 🎹 this year, we are doing an advent calendar in our window display where we wrapped 24 books and every day we open one of the packages! 🎁 It‘s hectic and wholesome and quiet and cozy and magical 💫🎄✨

I loved this video! It gave me some neat ideas and inspiration for future decorating! I also listen to a Hogwarts Christmas ambiance videos, but it's usually while I wrap presents or just need a big of a relaxing night. Quick cat owner trick: place little bell ornaments around the bottom of your tree so you can hear when she's messing with the branches. It truly helps in catching them in the act and teaching them to stop. Cats during Christmas can either be a hassle or they aren't bothered, so hopefully she becomes the latter! Lastly, I must know where you get some of your items! Specifically the long pretty spoons and the comfy cable knit pillows. I look everywhere for them, but can never find the right ones! I can't wait until the next video!

I’ve never celebrated Christmas (cuz I’m Muslim) but when I was a child I always loved the decorating and the whole getting-toys-from-santa thing. I always loved Christmas vibes and Christmas movies.
