"Mary, Did You Know", with lyrics written by Mark Lowry in 1984. Originally Mark used the lyrics on Christmas cards. Later on he requested, from several friends if someone could put music to his lyrics. The music was written by Buddy Greene in 1991. Mark recoded this with 'Voctave' while sitting which doesn't allow full lung capacity to be achieved. That was necessary due to his being tested for multiple sclerosis which limits his walking to short distances and has left him deaf in one ear.. This was an incredible test of his singing ability and well worth viewing, and reacting to! Mark was fortunate that his tests came back negative.

Voctave -O come all ye faithful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ E.J. CARDONA took the lead on this one. My wife and I had the good fortune to see Voctave perform O come all ye faithful live at one of there shows. This was a bucket list experience for me. (Side note) E.J. Brother Omar is one of the final 4 on this years Voice.

Mark said that when he was doing this, he wanted a list of questions to ask Mary. His singing this was almost like talking to her as a mother. This is so ethereal. Mark needed the stool as he has MS.

Niceeeeeee Schnell !!!Mark Lowry wrote the lyrics as a poem, as if he was having coffee with Mary and what would he ask her !! His interpretation of the song is the standard. He has MS and that is why he is sitting. He is a singer, comedian, minister and songwriter. He performed with the Gaither Vocal Band for years! If you ever heard his speaking voice you wonder where the heck his singing voice came from, LOL ! For a Christmas change up, watch their jazz version of The Man With The Bag. Super fun.

Love not only your reaction/reflection here, but the sheer respect of everyone here responding. I grew up with the Gaithers and Mark Lowery in particular. Southern Gospel is a different style to what most are familiar with today, but it is the heart behind how this song was composed, and Voctave provided the perfect support to this.

It’s sounds so much better here because you have the actual writer of the song, Mark Lowry as the lead singer Voctave is just backing him up. He is also one heck of a comedian. Many song this song and don’t even know this man here wrote it. Mark can hold a note longer than anyone I have ever heard. And he’s an old man.

Not only was Mark Lowery singing his song, the arangement was done by the fella on the far left, Jamie Ray. He founded the group in 2015, is a writer, teacher, arranger and producer. Absolutely the best version of this song....

Really beginning to enjoy your reactions! Fun fact here...Mark Lowry actually wrote and sang this song several years back while a member of the gaither vocal band. While he doesn't have a blow me out of the park vocal he still has an amazing baritone voice! But this song, it grips at your heart strings. Hearing him perform it with voctave's talent is amazing!!

Mark is a great singer, (and quite a comedian), and has been with Bill Gaither's Homecoming concerts for years. He also sang with the Gaither Vocal Band, along with David Phelps and Guy Penrod. Mark does a beautiful version of this song with David and Guy. He, along with Buddy Greene, are the composers of this song. I think you'd enjoy hearing their version. HF also does a beautiful version.

If you didn't know Mark is an incredible Christian comedian also. One video you should definitely watch him in is when he is singing with the Gaither Vocal Band and the song is "Jesus on the Main Line" He will make you cry with his comedy in that performance. It also features David Phelps.

First off, love the reaction! Second, as a professional videographer: turn off autofocus, or, see if your camera has settings in the autofocus menu to favor or track faces. When you rock your chair left and right the camera is automatically switching its focus from your face to the chair back. When focus changes it slightly changes the amount of zoom so it feels like the camera is shaking back and fourth. 👍

What made this song gain traction and become popular was when Jordan Smith performed it on The Voice 2015 Finale which was also a Christmas Special. Jordan knocked it out of the park and said this was his favorite Christmas song. Don’t get me wrong Mark wrote the lyrics and is the original master of the song but it was Jordan’s performance that made it so popular.
