Now that the pliers slipped and scratched the silver plate, what's underneath? Brass, aluminum or pot metal? Thanks for sharing 😎

RG217 sucks. that's why you can't hardly find connectors.
@nopenadanowaynohow2 жыл бұрын
It's not so much that it sucks, it is really low loss, but for the price, there is really M&P 13 series is really comparable, handles twice the power at the higher freq's, and much less expensive. Very quality stuff. If you truly need the low loss or better that you get with RG217, go hardline instead.

@@nopenadanowaynohow 217 is great stuff, was gifted 150 feet of old coax that looked like it was 20 years old. the double shielding was the heavyest stuff i ever seen and looked like new under that heavy black covering. put ends on it and put it uo a tree 80ft tall. been u that tree for another twenty years now. i can run anything i got to put through it. flawless !!!!

@@ronaldpotter3962 I get that, as I said in my follow up it is good low loss cable . But honestly, if I need that level of performance, and at that pricing, I just go thard-line. Even Lower loss, higher power handling, even more durable, good fittings and pigtails available, all at a very competitive price. ( depends of course on who you purchase from, quantity, shipping cost, etc.) When compared to true LMR or Messi&Paloni the attenuation at HF frequencies isn't different enough to realize any real world performance. Certainly not for runs less than 300 feet or so. However if you need the better power rating, again, the difference isn't enough to warrant the cost. Go to hard-line. M&P is also dual braid, silver coated. Same with center conductor, solid center conductor options, or silver coated copper strand. Better specs all around than LMR, better connectors. And even when I order direct from them in Italy, pricing is really close to LMR. Varies some now and then as the dollar versus euro pricing. Just better choices for cb and ham at those frequencies.
