A down-on-his-luck Johnny attempts redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his old rivalry with the now-successful Daniel. This, however, reignites old tensions and ignites a new generation of fighters.
Cobra Kai, created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, is a sequel to the beloved Karate Kid films. Originally a KZbin Red/Premium series, it shifted to Netflix for later seasons. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and takes place roughly between 2017 and 2019.
The show offers a fresh perspective on the "Miyagi-verse" through Johnny's eyes. It explores the consequences of unresolved conflict and the complexities of good versus bad. While Johnny and Daniel remain the central characters, the series also features a talented young cast including Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Jacob Bertrand. Familiar faces from the Karate Kid films, like Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, also return.

I think in my opinion we should spy on that guy and I want him to have a little encounter with Johnny one last time too I don't know we should be trusting Mike Barnes in my opinion buddy I don't know it was a little sketchy on the phone thing last season and a lot of ways. Even with lorusso with that lawyer thing I don't know I don't know if Mike's even telling the truth or not that. I mean he got abandoned after karate kid 3 he's just a spy for Terry silver hands down. This Japan battle is going to be a war 3-way war The Way of the fish with Kreese and Kim and Terry silver and his scam of caribou Kai and if Mike Burns is in there dude even the teachers are going to fight and that Japan war. And it seems like me eagle 🦅 fang is already inside the miyagi 🥋 so I think it might be called miyagi eagle dojo karate. Makes perfect perfect perfect perfect sense in my opinion. And Mike Barnes not wearing a miyagi 🥋 that could be a real problem he should respect everything of lorusso this time around. Tell him we need to spy on mike. 🕵️

I may be the odd one out here. Am I happy to see Mike Barnes return? Yes. But as far as beefing him up this much? No. We must remember that Silver's guys incapacitated him VERY quickly in season 5. Johnny, was on his own with all of them and was still standing in the end. IMO from what we have seen of Johnny vs Mike Barnes so far...Johnny is the better fighter.

That is true, but I think they had to sideline him since Mike's actor was injured during the filming of S5 and they had to limit his fight scenes.

@@andrewtran6669 Gotcha but let's look at a few other things. Further let's look at Mike Barnes's record in the franchise. Miyagi vs Barnes: Miyagi wins. Daniel vs Barnes: Daniel wins. Terry Silver's guys vs Barnes: Silver's guys wins. Mike Barnes has not had a single victory in the franchise. The only thing he succeeded in doing was making Danny boy piss his pants...and after Daniel's fight for life against Chozen this was something that Daniel should have been so far advanced to have never let happen. I just don't see the hype that is being put into Barnes.

@@Pierre-LucBeauregard After Johnny had fought them all single handedly for how long? Likewise, it is important to remember he is not Miyagi-do nor was he Eagle Fang. His gi is independent. Did it ever dawn on anyone that he would have got insurance reimbursement on his store? Was it me or did he lose in Silver's house way too soon? Now, from this clip it seems that he is going to be pitting people against each other after Daniel went to him. Reeks of classic Mike Barnes/Terry Silver KK3...and it could be Danny boy fell for it again.
