Yoooooo the paint gods shone on me tonight! I finally treated myself to some Australian floetrol and a couple of the piggy pigments. So I'm needing to learn pigment mixing technique and cell activator ratios... who do I go to? You of course and to my surprise and delight, literally all the things I needed are here in this 1st video I landed on with no need to go bouncing around. You made my night! Now off to 🎨

Great video! Loved the results!!❤ Just a small tip to save mixing- less air bubbles…….use a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol instead of water to start your pigments 😊 Less “watered down” and as soon as you add your choice of paint, it will mix smoothly ❤ lots less bubbles!! Keep on painting!! Love your art!!

Hi. I am so intrigued by your work and “experiments”! Does it have to be done in a canvas, or could it possibly be done on a ceramic tile or clay? Also, do you put any sealant on these? And, if i were to do something like this on a ceramic tile (for instance) could i then cover it with a resin to ensure that the paint didn’t get scratched off? Thank you!

I'm kind of obsessed with pigments I have over 200 of them in my collection most of which are intense color shifts like the stuck up pigs. If you want to mix them into paint without these iridescent medium changing them then they have a binder from pebbio you don't have to get the glossy in fact it's best not to You could also use any medium because acrylic medium is called a medium because it has a binder in it that's the difference between an additive and a medium. But pabio has a good binder and so does culture hustle super base but I've had problems with their orders I'm still waiting on one I placed 3 months ago. Also the color art system has a medium that you can get that I've used to make a cell activator and honestly if you type in acrylic paint base in Amazon you will find a lot of companies actually have an acrylic paint base it's just experimenting on the different sheen but since you're using glossy stuff for bloom pouring medium I have found that using a semi-gloss medium for cell activator works best because even Shelly art says one of the things that helps the cell activator work is the fact that Australian flo has a matting effect. I have actually made a cell activator out of muso Black matte black paint and it has a killer effect I know that's not a piggy but it just shows that having a mat product over the glossy can help with the formation of cells. I do like the color art paint base I don't like their pigments though I've had the red pigments bleed through literally seven different layers of paint and sealer. I can't use those canvases if there's any white or some other colors because they bleed they're still bleeding through it's like sharpie marker on a wall it will bleed through the layers of paint I have even tried kills and it went through the kills. Wonderful paint base stay away from the reds with their pigments.
@death0572 ай бұрын
I would all us to like to say that though I absolutely adore Shelly art and fluid art co. There are a lot of ways to get those intense color ships without paying that price. And there are so many different intense color ships they use them for nails they call them multi-chromes You can get the Aurora pigments which are the interference color shifts and many many more and if you do want an intense color shift that's already made into a paint culture hustle has a set of four and they are intense.

@@GarrickBrownArtStudio yeah no problem! I did just now finish your video I had said that before I watched it completely actually right when you added the iridescent medium is when I made that comment give or take a minute. I love your channel You helped me when I first started January of last year. Golden also has one as well and if you want it thicker there is a company that has one that's nice and thick got to look up the company I'll get back to you on it but I found it on Amazon it's a German company and it's worked really well for me I can't think of the name right now and I'm not at home. I'll get back to you on that keep experimenting and sharing because you definitely have been an influence on me and countless others! I would still be trying to figure out what the heck a cell activator is if it wasn't for binge-watching your videos when I first started lol and ironically little did I know I started out with one of the harder techniques doing the blooms but those are easier for me to do than the easier techniques go figure it's kind of like being able to spell the longer weirder words yet trying to spell The words that are supposed to be the easy ones are the ones that everybody gets hung up on lol thank you for helping me with my complex PTSD therapy because of paint pouring I have gone from taking a lot of anxiety medication down to barely any as needed and it's not like times have not gotten more stressful but because of people like you people like me are able to have an outlet to all that stress that doesn't involve getting dependent on medication. The only problem that I have now is that I'm addicted to paint pouring and I can spend hours in my art studio in fact there's been days where I'll go in at noon and not realize I've been playing around with paint until well after sunrise the next morning My husband and I call it my time machine lol thank you for helping out with people like me because I am doing much better in one year than the previous 10 years so there's that! And that's why I got addicted to pigments as well! Thank you for being such an inspiration and a wonderful teacher.

That was awesome!! I saw someone make a cell activator with pigments and they used a little gloss gel and it worked great, now this takes it to another level. I would think you're right about using mostly dark colours though because they are competing with the colours in the bloom. I think the SUP would be awesome on a black and dark blue!!! Thank you for doing this!!

I have both but never could figure out the difference. You’re right though, the one in the bottle stinks and is thinner. I always wondered if one was more of a student grade vs a heavier bodied.
