Just because ASA is UV stable doesn’t mean the colors will be UV stable. That depends on whatever pigments they are using. If they aren’t lightfast in PLA they aren’t going to be lightfast in ASA without a uv blocking coating.

I'm curious if Joel and team have their attention, when watching any show/movie, to note any phrase clips or whatever you call them for their content. They're always on point. :) Elf clip was seasonally perfect.

Bah, forget the other materials, TPU all the way. TPU is way more practical than any other material, kid safe, especially for small kids who should be the target market for those uber-cute flexi toys. One venture at a time so the company doesn’t get to spread out, going to buy one of every TPU you have for sale now ❤.
@AuntJemimaGamesКүн бұрын
TPU is certainly more practical-in certain use cases. With recent features about what fumes and particulates are produced by printing certain materials, and how having an enclosure isn't enough to contain/dissipate them, I wonder how long it'll take before we have the full picture about what these materials are doing to our bodies. As such, I'm reluctant to encourage any hobbyist to print even semi-exotic materials like TPU and ABS. I think most people should stick to printing PLA and PETG unless they have a fairly robust ventilation setup, which most of us don't.
@MakerBees333Күн бұрын
@ TPU off gasses very little compared to most… unless you burn it, but all bets are off then. Hobbyists have been getting exposed to VOCs In workshops and garages for 100’s of years, it’s not good but not an emergency. Just don’t cut particle board in your bedroom, and don’t print in your bedroom 👍.
@Fly_High_FPVКүн бұрын
@@AuntJemimaGamesif you want to avoid nasty styrene and high VOC's, stick to TPU, PLA, and PETG. Anything with a melt temperature around 270 is bad for your body, needs major ventilation

I need to get Cookiecad filament eventually. I looove the non standard colors, but typically just use it for practical prints. Maybe next time I need filament, I'll look at their selection again

Probably easier to do with glass fiber than with carbon. Like it or not, carbon is black so any "-CF" filament is going to look peppered.

I have had my P1S for a month, but as a printer builder since 2014, I know this is the future. I immediately thought "the next step is every filament manyfacturer needs a profile for the Bambu printers lineup". The side of the spool should have a QR code that will take you to a page with list of printers preconfigured, that you can then click and send the profile link to email(then accessed by PC). This wouldn't be as useful for my Voron 2.4, but some filaments have parameters you know are completely different from others on market, like foaming TPU, PLA, and ASA, that would still benefit a 2.4 user for starting point. Some tables with temps, and exected attributes could also be useful. For me, this is the direction where premium, non “plus" products, should be looking. This may lead to printer manufacturers even offering configurations for the most popular filament lineups to get the most out of their product.

If Cookiecad gets the shore hardness of the Bambu TPU for AMS (68D) and continues expanding the variety of colors, they could take the market of the TPU. But first things first, the AMS is a tough cookie for elastomers 😅

If it's only 85A, it's really soft. Too soft for AMS and too soft for bumpers and protection on drones....closer to silicone than the 95A rubbery TPU we know n love.
